One of our distant relatives from my brother's in laws side and one of our neighbors here has died yesterday due to coronavirus infection. He was about 65 and survived by his wife, son and married daughter. He was not well and had to be admitted to hospital two days back where it was detected that he was suffering from coronavirus infection. He could not survive long. The authorities here does not even give body for cremation. They just bring the body fully wrapped in polythene to show to the relatives and take it back. It is very sad and unthinkable.

It's sad. That's the worst part of this virus. You can't be around your loved ones to take care of them. It's sad that one has to do the last rites and rituals following the protocol. May God give strength to grieving families. And I hope people around are there for emotional support.

@msdivkar And that is not wise also as you run risk of getting infected. Here in our apartment two elderly lost their lives due to covid. But our apartment stood with family. They are still in quarantine and we have not visited them. But cookingp food for them and putting it on doorsteps, delivering their daily supplies to door etc. were few things residents did. We have made covid response team here with volunteers and then assign these duties to residents who have put their names for volunteer job. My husband delivered their medicines twice to their door and I cooked for two evenings for the family. We keep calling them and checking on them.

@msdivkar That is good. At least they have someone to take care in this distress.
Situation is getting worse each day in our country and still many people are not taking it seriously. They just get assured that the recovery rate is good and mortality rate is low. But still even one in hundred dying is not assuring. We never know who that unfortunate one can be. So better to take all safety measures.
