How Do You De-Stress Your Mind?

I am listening to relaxing music while I type today. I have a pair of old Koss head phones that work perfectly. They help take me away from the world.
Right now I can hear the ocean and many quiet sounds. So much is going on in the world right now. I turn the news off and try to take my mind to other places.
Nature has always been a huge help for me. Music is also another bonus. I know of many who can't seem to turn off the bad news going on.
We all have to find what works for us. It is a personal thing we have to keep searching until we find it.
I read posts of two members here, my friends, who are having anxiety issues. I wish I could help take that away for you. I know about those issues all too well.
But you have to be the one to do it. Keep trying, never ever give up. Try the deep breaths, the music, whatever else is out there. I am here to listen to you.

As much as I love my music, I also have to be physical about it (dance/exercise) for de-stressing. I just try to stay productive . . . that way I get something accomplished while trying to be distracted. Yard work, extra cleaning, cooking . . . myLotting is good too .

Music used to be a way of release for my brother and I. He really loved his music. I bought him an Echo Plus for his birthday last year and it touched him so much that he actually teared up. I can't use music as an escape right now as it reminds me of him. What I have found is reading the Bible everyday helps a lot.

I de stress by doing needlework either crochet, knitting, cross stitch, tatting, and soon coming lace embroidery etc. As for music, I like it but it has to be soft melodies to de stress... BTW Virily seems to be going downhill fast? I saw your last post on it yesterday mentioning that you are on mylot (which I already knew) but also on Bluefire. Can you please tell me about Bluefire. The only thing I saw was Bluefire e book reader and Bluefire literary contest...

What a good question Carol! I basically de-stress my mind by doing something that either distracts me or relaxes me. For instance, I listen to music, work out indoors, eat some goodies, or take a nap.

I love ASMR. It’s kind of bad how addicted I am, but it is so dang relaxing! I pop in some headphones and look on YouTube for the video or sound I am feeling for the night. I get to sleep in no time!

@CarolDM You can use it for sleep or for just relaxing! A lot of people use it for studying and just hanging out. It’s pretty diverse!

Same here, relaxing music. I like to listen to jazz sometimes when I am amped up to bring me down a notch. Turning off the news is also a good plan. There's almost no good news! I also like to "busy my mind" with a Sudoku puzzle, or something similar.

I find it hard to relax. It distracts me too much to read or write or to watch TV. I find that working on jigsaw puzzles helps me turn off some of the anxiety.

Music is great, it helped a lot when I was alone in my apartment in a new city of a new country, It was very nice to have some background noise as it was the first time I had lived alone, my usual go to was either lofi or wordless background music, another way I like to de-stress is not just let my mind wonder away from reality for a while, or it is great to have a few good friends where you can all just vent.
