MyLot Doesn't Work Like Other Sites

The reason why newbies need a helping hand may be:
- They think they know everything anyway and don't need instructions. They discover a site, don't read the Guideline Rules and post away. Often, it doesn't take long until one or more of their discussions are deleted or even the account closed. I remember that this happened to a member who mixed up myLot with a soft porn site and informed the community about her sexual adventures.
- Other newbies do what they know from other sites, i.e., they flood the Recent Discussions list with one post after the other and then wait to see the money rolling in. I imagine their faces getting longer and longer when they realise that nothing of the kind is happening.
MyLot is a writing site, isn't it? Don't you earn by writing? Well, in the case of myLot the answer is obviously, "No, you don't". Spamming the site with one post after the other doesn't make sense here if we aren't rewarded for the posts but only for the reactions of other members.
- This brings me to the vital question why the earning scheme on myLot is so different from other sites. During the twenty years I've been online, I've never seen a site on which one solely depends on other members to earn something and one's own activity doesn't fill one's piggy bank. There must be a reason why Mr MyLot has decided to spill out the money he gets from advertisements in the way it's done. I haven't got the foggiest idea how money from ads on the site turns into myLot earnings. Suffice to know that it does.
The only reason that I can think of is that deep down in his heart he's a philanthropist, i.e., a friend of men.
Does Mr MyLot want to bring people together? Has he thought of the hurdle of interaction so that people who want to earn something (and who doesn't?) *have* to get in contact with each other?
If my theory doesn't convince you, what do *you* think is the reason behind interacting?
-----
Btw, the words on the yellow poster at the top of the site are in Russian. They mean 'market place'. I have no idea what the dog is doing there and which myLot organisation uses this slogan. I found it on the net.

I have my own reasons to stay here. I started many years ago, when I was in chemo. The people I found here kept me busy and happy and possitive. They still do. I have fund some very good friends.

@maluse Well whatever the rationale that has directed Mr Mylot, your post has picqued some interest and you will be on your way to another cappuccino. I have decided to wait until the next time I am in Italy to drink cappucciono. The Irish just haven't acquired the knack of making a good cappuccino.

The payment system is also a mystery to me. Money-wise, today is the best day of the month for me so far. I have no idea why. I'm just as busy as every day which is not very busy compared to other members. Yet, the cents are jumping into my coffer.:-)
Tomorrow may be completely different.

I tend to think that the purpose behind how we are paid is part of what makes MyLot viable, and essentially more attractive to its members BECAUSE it is not the post itself that makes the money. It's the people who REACT to it that makes the money. And when you have a site where interaction is the key to earnings, I think it engages people in a much different way.
Like you said, some people do not bother to figure that out. But they get rooted out quite quickly, and surely there are several members around here who are more than willing to say, "Hey, you're doing it wrong."
I have said several times there is a good reason the owners of this site decided to call our posts "discussions," in that they are supposed to be conversations that continue on into the comments section. People are not only encouraged to leave a comment, for example, they are encouraged to leave a comment that furthers the conversation and keeps it going a bit longer.

I have been for years ... in between due other occupations I sometimes had gaps.... but being a part of some interesting discussion really pull me back to this site... money wise I feel comparing many othre money earning site.... mylot is much consistent and mostly maintained the quality. The time we spent here if it is much of quality we get paid accordingly.... I feel most such sites the newbiees at time avoid the patience to read terms and conditions ....

I used to post on writing sites that pay but many of these have closed down or stopped paying altogether because of the many scammers. Maybe like the other members here have said, myLot's earning scheme is to lessen the opportunity to spam.
Also, I like that myLot is some sort of outlet that I can say things and people won't judge me. A lot of the people I've interacted with here from the time I started are really nice. That's why even if I don't log in for quite some time, I come back here especially when I need to let things out of my chest.

Just enjoy writing discussions and reading others. That is what this site is all about.

Thank you. I appreciate it when myLotters read and respond to my stories for discussion. Their kind visits never go unnoticed.

The few extra dollars are nice; but the reason I stay here is because of the online friends that I've made. I talk to them more than I do to my real friends who are out of state and out of the country. Have a wonderful day.

I totally agree with you my friend. Although am still a newbie here i realized mylot is only about interactions and being social active.
