History and Fairy tale

Anyone know, what is the difference between history and fairy tales? Because here the two are mixed. An exampel In my history, the founder of the Mataram kingdom was Raden Sutawijaya. He was The first King of Mataram (1587-1601) Then it is told that he was married with Nyi Roro Kidul, the Queen of the South Sea. The problem is that this Queen is not human. It doesn't make sense for humans to marry non-humans. The above is just an example. There are many similar stories here. I know, fairy tales are spread all over the world. But history which is then Linked, mixed, in fairy tales. How about in your country?

@udinwardoyo anything related to history would definitely have some proof.

The question later: How can we know something categorized as historical or fairy tale if both of them have no sufficient evidence?

@amitkokiladitya: except for contemporary history, because it is still heavily influenced by politics. So evidence can be subjective.

I can't imagine that you learn in your history lessons at school or university that a human being has married a non-human.

@maluse It's not exactly like that. In history lesson there is no such story, but the story lives in the community, and some still believe it. Our society is very diverse, including in education.

History is all about true occurances or events that happen in the past but fairy tales are events that are too good to be true in short fairy tales are not true.

@piyushbhatia1 I do agree. But when the facts from the past, which for some reason are not sufficiently evident, they can become mere fairy tales. And vice versa when a fairy tale is associated with a place, it may be asked as history.

History is based on reality. Fairytales are just myths and stories made up by people.

I do agree, @DianneN. But sometimes they merged, and it is not impossible that it was intentional

i think our anchestor make their own story in the history. And it is closed to the myth. For those who believe maybe will trust. But for those who dont believe it just kind of story and fairy tale

History, is a real event or fact or has occurred in the past, with figures and places that can be verified. Fairy tale, whether fictitious or unreal or nonexistent in the past, are just the imagination of the author.
