The essence of Christianity is having the knowledge that even though you are an ignorant imbecile that repetitively makes the same stupid mistakes, that you are forgiven and shown how to live by God's only begotten son if you so chose, and that when the rest of humanity perishes, you will have eternal life.

the essence of christianity is SERVICE.
no other religion have extended so far and wide extending its mission serving the humanity.
Christianity should be given credit for it service in uplifitng humanity thru educations, feeding programs, orphanage, etc, etc.
Apart from that , the rest is just like what Karl Marx said, "religion is the opium of the masses"

I beleive in God, but christianity is just a religion like any other religion. There are so many different forms of christianity. The Christianity worth naming has an essence of fellowship, humanity, love, respect, and understanding.

I believe that the essence lies in the depth of the matter.. So in my view Jesus Christ is the essence of Christianity... Who gave the word Christianity and also the people rather I would say his followers who follow the religion given by him is the essence of Christianity...
Essence of Christianity lies in the religion which says to follow truth, non-violence and equality... and all the good virtue that had been weaven in bible....

The essence of Christianity - to me - is the ability to be non-judgemental to others who may be different from us in some ways (poor, homeless, new neighbor, foreigner, sick, disabled, minority). These were the attitudes and aspect of one Jesus Christ. And although no one may be able to exactly BE like Him then can aspire to his teachings.
After all, we are all the same under the skin and our blood is the same color.

The essence of christianity is
1.Believe in LORD Jesus and you and your household will be saved.
2.If you are faithful to repent of your sins, your sins will be forgiven.(The lord is faithful and just to forgive your sins.)
3.Loving others.
4.Do things to others as you want others to do for you.
5.Obeying the 10 commandments.
6.Being a witness and living testimony for christ.
7.Making jesus known to the ends of the earth.
8.Jesus is our friend.Take your burdens unto him.Jesus says"Take my yoke, for it is light."

the essence of christianity is the same for all world religions. DO GOOD, BE GOOD,RESPECT ALL LIVING CREATURES,SHOW LOVE TO ALL AND MOST OF ALL...ALWAYS BE POSITIVE.
its very sad to hear and read comments made by people of different religions on religions apart from their own.
there is a saying that goes(should all humans at the same time pray{concentrate on a actionthat needs to be carried out}then because of the collective nature of that prayer/thought ..the action will be done....meditation is what we do when we so call pray.always be posive and you will influence others with your vibrations.there is only one god...but we humans will go to wars to say otherwise.
so once again the essence og all religions is as i said...DO GOOD , BE GOOD ,LOVE ALL AND TREAT ALL LIVING CREATURES WITH RESPECT AND LOVE.DO NOT LOOK DOWN UPON A BEGGAR AND UP TOWARDSA KING A BUT LOOK AT THEM WITH THE SAME RESPECT.............MAY THE FORCE ABOVE THAT PEOPLE CALL GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.

For me the essence of Christianity is that Jesus laid down his life for our sins and cleansed us with his blood. But that's the Christian perspective, as a non-Christian the essential is Jesus' message to love one another.
