I received one inquiry today asking me to teach her 4x a week for free. I really did not know how to react but I politely explained that I could not commit to such.
There are no free services nowadays for long, especially if you demand 4 days a week.
People must understand that we have expenses too. Free service for a few days is okay but forever? I don't think so.

Yeah, we also need to pay for stuff for ourselves, so just say no to free services.

I agree with you. We all need something for living expenses

Wow that comes as a shock for me. How can people ask something like that? Maybe if we are that super close I might just. Bu then I would still pay and ask for a discount maybe. But especially at this time when it's hard to even go out and get a decent job, people should be considerate.

People want to be compensated for their time---Sad but true.
Oh, if you and the student were in the same place anyway, and all the lesson-material were there, and you weren't busy doing anything else; Sure, you could do that for free (donations acceptable too).
That also goes for things you're not supposed to give-or-take money for ... hanging out, going to parties-etc., things that could be mistaken as 'dating'
Which is why most "dates" involve 'dinner' or 'a movie' or some other show that requires 'admission' (for which one of the attendees 'pays' ... unless they're "going Dutch")---which is why I may never get married ... because I can't afford to compensate her for 'spending time with me'

Such a requirement went to far in my view, there is no free service usually. As a tutor, you will pay time and efforts to students, getting reward is reasonable in return.I am not sure if her don't understand the convention,or her was making fun of you on purpose.i think the latter is likely.

Oh no you must not you are not a charity. It amazes me how people have the cheek to ask for something for nothing. If she is will to pay that is different but a huge commitment 4 times a week. What is it you are teaching?
