Do you think traditions will be lost in the future?

I noticed that some young ones are ignoring the traditions in my country. I am trying my best to teach our little miss about this concern. I, myself cannot be in this situation without these traditional practices. Do you have a family tradition? Did your parents pass on the family tradition to you? I do think it will not be lost. A student of mine from Shanghai is claiming that they are living in a modern city. The traditions are starting to fade away. Well, we have some arguments. But still, he insisted that it will be lost.

@LadyDuck It is for him to say, so I did not argue about it.

@Shavkat Only because his family is not passing to him traditions, this does not mean that this happens in every family.

Honestly I cannot separate what are family traditions to any other thing. So when people say tradition I am not sure what they refer to. I imagine superstitions and part of culture that are already old and impractical. When I was a kid, we used to serve large foods to many visitors from other towns during fiesta, but this tradition is slowly fading in our town, for different reasons. Then there are also feasts and processions for saints.. I am not active in all of these. I recognise those may be the traditions of some of the people, even of my parents and my grandparents, but they are impractical to me personally. If I can choose, I rather not have them.

Honestly, these traditional practices in the lowland areas cannot be seen in my city. The reason is that they are not accustomed to doing them here. The City of Pines is a diverse place to do these things.

There aren't really any traditions that have been passed down in my family, but I am trying to make some of my own! I hope that my children will continue them. Some traditions are good to carry on, while some need to change with the times.

I am trying to follow the traditions in our culture and our family. I try to get the whole family involved. I can only hope that children would learn and carry it forward.

Ummm, By tradition what do you mean? Religious practices? If yes, then I don't believe in traditions much; neither do my parents. So they had nothing as such to pass on to me! If you mean tradition in the context of job- like family business then also I must say that one should not thrust their aspirations into their child. Leave it to the child to decide her/his own future.
