Does keto causes Kidney failure?

October 6, 2020 2:01am CST
I heard some recent news stating Keto causes Kidney failure and an actress died coz of it. I'm following keto for the last 2 months and I don't see any issues. Does anyone feel some difference in the body?

Be careful even if you start. Stop immediately if you see some negative signs or discomfort.

I have no idea but one thing I do know is you should feel it. Kidneys and liver will let you know. I guess most people healthy which is a good thing but not if they do not feel their own organs failing them. Most are young, does not hit to later. Either way body lets you know as with anything common sense goes far.

@Gnana_Helps People like that totally ignore what their body tells them though. Sad to say , it has actually been classified as a brain disease I think. Not sure on that one but heard something like that,

The ketogenic diet is a very low-carb, high-fat diet that shares many similarities with the Atkins and low-carb diets. It involves drastically reducing carbohydrate intake and replacing it with fat. This reduction in carbs puts your body into a metabolic state called ketosis.

I don't know but their rate of success---losing weight and keeping it off for 5 or more years--isn't very high! In the 1970s the original Atkins diet had the same problem and caused many people problems. I lost 100+ pounds in 1967 at Weight Watchers and I still believe their original program was the best and healthiest!

I have been doing a keto diet since July 2019. I asked my doctor about it first and he told me it was safe as long as plenty of water is drank. Only those who eat large amounts of protein and don’t drink enough water have problems. It has been a good way of eating for me. I’ve lost 77 pounds, my diabetes is in remission and I have lots of energy. I am pleased to be medication free. Good luck.

I have never followed any particular diet. I eat healthy and in moderation, exercise and try to keep a healthy lifestyle. Many people have reported about adverse effects of keto while others praise it.

I have been doing keto since June 2020 and sometimes I notice a strange feeling in my low back on one side. I have wondered if it is some kind of issue with my organs such as kidneys or something like that but I love doing keto so much I don’t want to quit
