Is this target for wind power attainable?

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged to make renewable energy - and in particular wind power - the dominant form of energy generation in the country. The target is to have every home powered by wind energy by the year 2030. This is certainly an ambitious target, involving the establishment of around three times as many offshore wind turbines as there in place at present. It has been estimated that this will mean the creation of about five new turbines every week for the next 10 years! Once erected, it cannot be doubted that this is a particularly efficient means of power generation - one complete rotation of a turbine blade supplies enough electricity to supply the average home for a day!

@indexer And I note he is still keen to secure the Union by building a bridge between N Ireland and Scotland. Madness.

I am still wondering about the little problem of how such a bridge would be built. It will need columns to go to the bottom of a very deep trench - which is where a lot of unused military ordnance was dumped after World War II!

@indexer And what about all that wind Boris is so fond of? I fear the bridge will be more often closed than open.

That is good that your government is committed to having them as your source of energy since they are sourced clean and reusable sources of energy. For as long as it is built sturdy enough to endure the winds it has to face day in and out then l guess that would all be safe and sound to give you enough energy supply for free.
