My cat died

I was less active here because of depression. My cat died on the 11th of September. Now I have two other cats. They were outdoor cats and I took them indoors in March. But I am not sure if they like to be inside.
They sleep all day lately. I offered them plenty of toys. I let them outside, but they both disappeared. One of them was hidden for three days because other cats attacked him and another one was under cars. And I kept them inside after that experience.
It was very sad for our family to lose our cat. He was 8 years old. We buried him in our yard. What is sad is the fact that he wanted to live, but his body shut down. His kidneys failed. He died at home, in my bedroom. We planned to take him to the vet the next day. He died when my brother came home. It was so hard for my brother to see him dying. It seems like my cat waited for my brother and after that, he died. My brother came home from another town. They had a special bond.
He was so beautiful and he used the litterbox until his last moment. He lived without food and water for three days. On his last day he could not walk. I miss him so much and I don't think I will overcome this. Maybe I shouldn't have cats anymore.

I am so sorry for your loss. Loosing a pet is never easy, and 8 years old is young for most breeds of cats. Almost four years ago, I lost my cat, Precious, to the same thing.... kidney failure. If you say your brother and cat had a special bond, I believe it. Precious wanted to pass away on the couch next to me. So I understand. Precious lived to be 19 years old.
As hard as it may feel for those other cats, trying to make them indoor cats really is he best thing for them. They will live longer, healthier lives and thank you for it.
Our most recent addition, Mama was one of those indoor/outdoor cats. We took her with us when we bought our house nearly four years ago. She's thriving and very happy.

@dya80dya You can always look into pet cremation. But, why can't you bury them?

@kaylachan I mean I can't stand to bury them. I lost that one in September and now other one is very sick. We don't have cremation here.

I am sorry about that. It is so hard to lose a pet. They are a member of the family.

I am s very sorry for your loss. It is difficult when our pets pass as they hold a special place in our hearts and homes. I'm glad you still have two to love on.
I told Mike when our girls pass I would like to get a senior or disabled kitty to love on next.

I'm so sorry for your loss. But this does not mean you should stop having pets

I am so sorry to hear about your cat. I hope u are okay. I've also felt the same way as you and when I lost my cat; I cried like I was cutting onions. it hurts. I think you really need a break to calm your thoughts... it's okay if u don't want to have a cat anymore.. And, please believe that.. Your cat is don't want to see you sad / cry. :(
