The Tongue of an Angel

In my country, some Filipinos believe in the phrase, "Magdilang anghel ka sana" or "I hope you have the tongue of an angel." It happens when wishing someone and the receiver will say this phrase. I sometimes say use it, too. If the wish came true, then he or she has the tongue of an angel. Do you have the tongue of an angel? Image Credit: i.pinimg.com

We do not have this phrase, I am not sure of the meaning, so I have no idea if I have the tongue of an angel.

It is just wishing someone sincerely. Well and good if it came true.

@LadyDuck I felt happy if it happens. One time, I told to my colleague that she is going to get pregnant a few years back, it did come true. But she ignored me after that.

@Shavkat I see, most of the time I wish sincerely or I say nothing and sometimes it comes true.

We have a similar saying in Hindi... " Tumhare muh me ghee shakkar"... That means the same. May what you say turns out true so that I can give you a sweet treat

I am afraid of my tongue, Before when i am early teens, My relative says, you finish your study and work abroad..i replied why shall i go and work abroad after my studies?i said never ever.then....after many years,i eat what i said. Again my aunt got married american, I said to my another aunt,, I should be like her.. After few years,i married also a foreigner. I am not sure if i really have that tongue of an angel.

I think you have. I, myself have the gift, too. Sometimes I do not open my mouth and say things. Rather, I keep it to myself.

l wish l had that power too that what l say come true. Although when l was still going out me and my driver would joke around and most of the joke l made did came true. . That’s why he stopped me from joking around because he’s afraid that it might get true again.

I guess you also have the gift. Some of my jokes with others came true, but in a good way though.

That is going to be a painful tattoo if ever one decides to get his/her tongue tattooed. Of course, I know this phrase but hard to say if I have one.

I'm not quite sure if I'm going to believe on it or not, since most of the people are saying it as a good luck or wish you luck

It does not matter if we believe it or not. We just need to wish someone freely. Would you agree?

Woah interesting! In my country, there is no such a thing like that! We only said "good luck" or something like "god with you"!
