Due to the pandemic, graduation rites are now done online.
Though photos of the graduates were flashed onscreen as their names were announced, it made me so happy with tears in my eyes after the name of my niece was called.A new Doctor of Medicine.
We celebrated online, through family video call.It could had been a grand celebration if the times allowed it.
Still we are hoping we can celebrate in person when the pandemics end.

l also had my son finished his high school this year and it was really a very different and unique experience to see him finish school this year. I guess it could have been different if there was no pandemic lurking around but we’re just happy that he has succeeded in finishing his high school and is now on his way to college days.

@acelawrites It was and we even bought him his dress for graduation before the quarantine was implemented hoping he would have the usual ceremonies but then March came in and lockdown happened we were hoping April would be okay but it didn’t happen by June the school decided to have it online. It was differences but l am glad they did decide to have them feel like they finished their high school already.

When people realize this is a virus, and it's not going to "go away", then in-person celebrations will resume in more places. However, while in-person would've been preferable, online makes it more accessible for friends and family (who may not have been able to attend ) so, that's another way of looking at it.

@acelawrites You shouldn't be afraid of the virus. It's just a virus, and just like the cold or anything else, you could catch it, or you could not. If you get sick from it, the severity depends on who you are as a person, and how well your body responds to illness.

We can meet (those who are living close to each other), but we didn't do it for fear of the virus.
