An abnormal number of flies this summer 2020

Is it just me or are others experiencing a more than usual number of flies this summer? I haven't seen this many flies in my house in the last 50 years. Is it just Michigan, or is it nationwide? And how do you get rid of flies, other than with a fly swatter?

@greatinfo4u That's what we are doing here. We take away things that they want to stay.

Exactly! So if nothing else, I was going to just be a little more patient, bide my time and let old man winter take 'em out.

@greatinfo4u In my family, we sometimes use lighted candles to push them away.

So true! I see that when you just get a little increase in number of them.

@Shavkat That's a very good idea! I'll look for something in a candle scent.

I haven't gotten any flies in my house, but then we keep windows and doors mostly shut and we have screens on the windows. But, this spring and summer, the bugs have been the bane of my existence during my travels. If insect repellent didn't make me sick, while leaving me needing a bath... i'd use it.

I can just imagine what that must be like !! Just a few more than normal, and you really notice and they really get on your nerves.

Tame the flies and teach them to do your bidding also teach them to fly you around.

Thank you for the welcome! It's not bad. Just the ones that flew in the door.

Just clean everything very well with a dishwashing soap... it works for me. Have a great day, and I hope you get rid of those flies soon.

To be honest... we probably have more squirrels around here than flies. I never even noticed until you mentioned it.

Squirrels are great. They know how to stay away and mind their own business. But flies are simply nuisances that get on your nerves.

Hello welcome to mylot ! Hope you can enjoy it here and interact with other members . And to answer your question about flies , I think you should clean that part of the house where flies are always staying. And there are electric fly catchers that you can buy too .
