My Grandkids Have a New Place to Live

@DianneN wow yeah even just being closer for those practices would be nice. I hope they love it there!

They rented their co-op in NYC and bought a house in New Jersey to give the kids a chance to have fresh air over the summer since camps were closed due to covid. They decided to buy this house, because it's closer to where the Ice Princess does her 8-5 skating and online skating and close enough to where our grandson plays hockey. Before, my DIL had to drive my granddaughter 40 minutes to her rink there, home, and back again to pick her up. That rink is a whole other story.

It is and that's what they wanted. My son and the family are so happy with it. I just saw a part of the finished basement. My granddaughter must have made a TikToc video in it over the weekend.

It's so grand looking and I only wish I could actually visit. Perhaps next spring.

@just4him Our other option is to drive to NJ, look at the house from the outside, and drive home.

@LadyDuck A sign of the times. We want to keep each other safe. We may go to see the outside and meet outside for a few minutes and then drive all the way back home.

@kobesbuddy It's in an upscale town and they even have a swimming pool and fenced in yard for the dogs. Perfect for them and close to the rinks for the kids.

Thanks, Scott! They are about 26 minutes out of Manhattan in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Not too bad IF we ever get to visit them.

@DianneN Oh ok pretty spacious for all of them. Even the husband and wife can have their own rooms.. Anyway l guess they will be enjoying the new house for sure especially the kids.

@rsa101 You are so funny! The kids seem to love the house. All I saw of it was a basement family room or workout room. My granddaughter already made a Tik Tok video there. They have a gorgeous unground pool there, too, which will come in handy in the summer if camps are still closed.

@TheHorse I have no idea, but they now have two SUVs to haul the kids around and not a moment too soon. It's in a very nice upscale town.
