It’s Friday date night once again. How the weeks do fly!
My hubby and I have been celebrating Friday date nights since we first met. He chose me as the love of his life, and I chose him. We have had a happy and wonderful life together and have two healthy, successful sons, a daughter-in-law as close as a daughter can be, and of course our precious grandchildren.
My friend, Valerie, asked me if I’m looking forward to date night or my martini tonight.
I answered that it’s always date night with the love of my life. A martini is just the icing on the cake and would not be the same alone.
And who did you choose?

Jay actually chose me, for some crazy reason. I thought being a single mother, was my final payment! LOL He's good to me, in spite of all the shortcoming. Do we celebrate our friendship? Yes, at times we do. 'GO MICHIGAN STATE!'

How wonderful.
I made 2 bad choices early on and after that decided I was better off alone. It's worked out well for me and I have no regrets. Hey, I'z had some really awesome pups and kitties that I still remember fondly plus now I have 3 more that are sharing their lives with me. It's all good.

And I wish you many more years together.
My friend had surgery yesterday and should be home on Monday. Thanks for asking. Her hubs found a home helper to stay with her during the day when he goes to work. He will take Saturdays off and let his partner take care of everything. He doesn't trust his partner, but loves his wife. They don't have any children and her mother is way too old and frail to help. She will stay at their house to make sure nothing is stolen.

Wasn't it just Friday? This week went by quick!
Enjoy your date night.
Who did I choose? I'm confused. Well, romantically? None of the abusive types that I seem to attract. Ah there are a few I would love to be with but alas they don't seem attracted to me.
I suppose that is the complaint of most single folks though. Don't like the ones they attract, and yet , can't seem to attract the type they want.
Momma and are are making enchilada bake tonight :-)

Time flew by, and now I have to wait an entire week for another martini. He doles them out like a miser!
Sometimes it's best not to get stuck with the wrong person. I know someone who married a women with a bad heart condition only to find out she can not have children due to it. The end for the hopeful grandma and grandpa. Nieces and nephews don't fill that kind of gap.
Oh, what a great idea for dinner. I hope you both enjoyed it.

@FayeHazel Your mother is so lucky to have a daughter such as you, kids or no kids.
My friends chose not to have any. He hates kids and she didn't want to ruin her figure.

@DianneN Ha ha. Oh dear. I bet that keeps the martini very special though. I don't know much about martini other than there's a lot of different kinds of them.
True. I look at my ex-fiance and I'm so happy that didn't work out. It would have been a disaster. If they both wanted kids - the people you know - what a sad thing to learn. I've never felt compelled to have kids of my own which I know is disappointment to my mom but.... is what it is. At times I've felt the pull to be involved with kids in another fashion, maybe big brothers, big sisters.... but.... not now for sure during pandemic.
It was very good , first time making this bake, thanks! :-)

You're a lovely lady to an equally dashing gentleman. Glad you're keeping the spark alive where some couples never did. Keep the fire burning. I wish I am able to choose too lol

@DianneN OMG! I told you before, that I'd be flattered! Fortunately I have a job now so I can get you a present. It won't be as expensive as your beautiful jewels but it'll come from my heart, that I can assure.

You two lovebirds are the sweetest !
I chose my very best friend . . . we knew each other since we were 18. A mere friendship turned into love . . . what an adventure we've had and the adventure continues on together with our daughter and son (we still marvel how they are a part of both of us).

Oh, you gave me huge goosebumps! You are so blessed with your wonderful husband and your two fabulous and bright children. You will have so many wonderful years to come - and grandkids to look forward to as well! Perhaps one will be a figure skater like her grammy!
