One of my niece's homeschool activities is to draw a landscape. She was asking me to help her. I am a bit stressed out. It has been a long time that I hold a pencil and draw something. Later, I am going to try it. It will be a landscape within or near my place.
In this photo, the landscape is in front of our house and not a good idea to draw. It will be a complicated thing. I need to find an area with fewer houses.
Are you good at drawing?
Any tips that I can use to do this?

Natural objects like trees, rocks, mountains and so on are more forgiving than houses because any small error in the way you draw their shape is likely to be less noticeable. As with any drawing, start by simplifying the basic shapes in your image into triangles, cones, spheres and so on. This will help you fix the composition and also help with the lighting (which sides of an object are dark and which in sunlight). There are many good (and free) basic tutorials on YouTube. Look for a few on Basic Landscape Drawing and try them out.
If you can't find any suitable scenes to draw in your area, the Internet is full of photographs (do make sure that they are free to use and don't have copyright restrictions - even making a drawing based on a copyright photo is considered infringement!).
Drawing the scene in your photo is not actually as daunting as it might seem. You would only include as much detail as was necessary to convey the fact that it's a hillside crammed with houses with more trees lower down in the town. The only real detail you need might be for the larger buildings closer to and some of the individual buildings like the curious little red, orange and purple house at bottom centre In fact, you might 'zoom in'' on that small area in the foreground and make an interesting picture of that on its own!

I am not good in drawing. But whenever asked to draw a landscape I draw a mountain with rice field, sun rising or setting complete with the rays, a bahay kubo and a tree

@yoalldudes my niece and I created one.
My niece asked for my help to paint something. As I promised, I will share the outcome here. It is not bad to paint a simple landscape of her age. Besides, I am...

Last time I drew something it was back in August. It was a Harry Potter drawing for a special person. Despite that I am not a pro at it, I was happy with the result.
