A Friend is Thinking of Me

I just got a message from my elementary and high school friend a few minutes ago. She had her birthday the other day, the 1st of Nov. She was having her birthday celebration with our friends in the Philippines who went with us to our school ages ago.
This friend told me that she is keeping a refrigerator magnet for me as a keepsake for her 60th birthday. Everyone who came to her party received this kind of magnet. The fridge magnet has a photo of my friend and a quote, "Your friendship warms my heart." I am honored that she and our friends were thinking of me although am very far away.
I never thought that my friendship with her is deep and no ocean can separate us. It is only a fridge magnet but the thought counts. Is it not sweet? I will get it when we see each other again when I fly home to the Philippines.
Thanks for reading. I hope you have all a nice day/ evening.
The photo is the black Kimona I have mentioned in my last discussion before this post.

@thelme55 I can't believe you were intimidated by her intelligence, but am glad you became good friends. I'm sure you can spin circles around her now!
I'm embarrassed to admit that I was one of the brainiacs in high school and hung out with quite a few of them and others, too. I'm still close friends with them today. I can assure you that none of us felt superior to any of the other students. Back then, we all thought of boys.

@DianneN I was not intimidated by her intelligence but I was so shy to talk to her. I adored her mother because she was once my teacher in elementary, a good teacher. Yes, I can spin circles around her and the others now. . I have changed a lot from being a shy girl to a person now who can say what comes into her mind. My husband thought me how to be confident in myself.
I see you had a wonderful high school life. I was like a mouse and very insecure.

We are very blessed indeed @DianneN. I am happy when I am in my home country as I always bond with my high school friends. We only became close to each other when we got older. Just imagine that I was hesitant to talk to her when we were in high school as she was (and still is) always very intelligent and I felt inferior. She became our class valedictorian.
