The Storm

I haven't been on MyLot in a long time. However, I figured I'd share a poem I wrote over the summer. Enjoy!
Lightning bolts flash across the sky,
Yet, all I see is the reflection in your eyes,
Summer winds whip and tug my hair,
I'm just happy that you're there,
The rain pours down on city streets,
But, all I feel is your love flooding me,
Electricity, simplicity, you're all I need,
The weather's raging, but my arms are warm,
The house is shaking,
Don't worry, Love,
I'll keep you safe from the storm,
Nervous laughter, the thunder booms,
We huddle tightly, in this darkened room,
The balcony, saves our memories,
As we yearn for cooler days,
The night drags on, longer than the rest,
I could have nothing, but with you I am blessed,
Electricity, simplicity, you're all I need,
The weather's raging, but my arms are warm,
The house is shaking,
Don't worry, Love,
I'll keep you safe from the storm,
It's dying down, you're on my chest,
I wish I could tell you, everything I can't express,
Powerful moments, energized,
Your lingered touch, leaves me hypnotized,
Any doubt, that's every crossed my mind,
Gets washed away, our lives are intertwined,
Electricity, simplicity, you're all I need,
The weather's claiming, and my arms are warm,
The house stopped shaking,
Sleep now, Love.
We've survived the storm.

Thank you very much. This poem was inspired by a really bad storm that my partner and I went through. Storms can be super scary!
