What's For Dinner Tonight 11/06/20

I never tire of braised pork steaks since there are a million different seasoning and flavor combinations you can make it into. So, tonight I am going to make braised pork steaks. For sides I think it is going to be a tossed salad and macaroni and cheese. I absolutely love macaroni and cheese and have not cooked up some in a while. I will probably doctor it up a bit. When it comes to macaroni and cheese I usually do. But not sure with what yet. What's on your dinner table tonight?

@Nakitakona That sounds like a delicious meal as well. As for turkey, I like it, but I would not say I love it. If I eat it 99% of the time it's on Thanksgiving and I probably don't eat any of it the rest of the year. Personally I'd rather have chicken.

@id_peace Roasted is good too. But when it comes to cooking, when you are doing it every day of course, it's nice to have multiple options in the way something is cooked.

Braising just makes everything so tender. Like butter.

Sounds yummy. If only I ate pork. I have no idea what's for tonight's dinner aside from maybe mozzarella, heirloom tomato with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

@LindaOHio Certainly nowadays, with my salt restriction, I could use the noodles without the packet for other things. With the packets it's basically a salt lick. But boy, were they DELICIOUS. I used to eat them all the time.

Mm. That does sound pretty good actually. I have never added noodles to it, but now you will have me doing this. Of course, I may have to toss in a little meat too. I am always a hungry hippo.

I cooked a yummy venison stew with carrots, celery, onion flakes, and potatoes. I fried some corn bread and served it with peanutbutter stuffed celery sticks. How did you finally decide to season your pork steaks?

Mmm. Venison. Especially venison stew. Yummy stuff there. I dashed a bit of Worcestershire sauce on them, then added some No Salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, and little bit of curry powder to them. They were quite tasty.

I've never seen a pork "steak" in the grocery store around here. Maybe it is just a midWest thing. I had delivery from my usual--hanger steak with smashed potatoes and asparagus.

Pork steak is definitely a Midwest thing. Not sure why it is, though. It's a fantastic cut.

Is that your dinner in the picture? It looks good. We’re having Hebrew National hot dogs, and possibly Champagne if Biden is announced as the winner.
