Today, I got the good news that one of my nephews was rescued on the top of a tree. It has been days that I am not in a good condition because his mother informed me about it. It was the aftermath of the last typhoon in my country. Their place was flooded and most of the houses were submerged in Rodriguez, Rizal Philippines. Now, they are settled in an evacuation center. Any good news you had for today? Does it flood at your place? Image Credit: images.gmanews.tv

That’s pretty good news and frightening news as well. I guess your niece is pretty much battered by now experiencing those horrible moments during the typhoon. Hopefully he would be able to be ok already.

@Shavkat Ok that might be a good idea. Just make sure that he is properly debrief of what had happened since he may be traumatized by it and may carry it for the rest of hismlife if not properly assessed.

So many places are facing hardships right now @Shavkat Here there are wild fires on the west coast and hurricanes on the east and southeast coasts, it's all so tragic.

I also did not expect it. I am feeling bad that they are still in the evacuation center. My concern is the spread of COVID-19 there. I hope it will not happen.

I think he is early 20 years old. The eldest of my cousin. I think he went back to their house during the typhoon. Not a good idea.

@florelway Perhaps it was a panic mode at that time. My mother and aunt are planning to bring them here to Baguio City soon.

Unfortunately, their house was washed out. At this very moment, they are in the evacuation center. We cannot do anything so far because of this pandemic. We are going to give financial aid for now. I think my mom and her sister are planning to bring them here to my city.

When I heard about it, I was so furious. He is my eldest nephew. It was a good thing that no water entered your house. If it happens, it will be a hassle.

Actually, he swam towards the tree. It is a good thing that he knows how to swim. But then, it is not guaranteed because of the strong current of the water. He is lucky to be rescued.

The affected areas are too far from my city. No flood will happen here because I am living on the mountain. Because of this pandemic, we cannot extend our hands to them easily. We were so blessed that he was being rescued.
