In my country we have 2 kind of electricity bill. Those are prepaid electricity bill and postpaid electricity bill.
Just like its name, prepaid mean you buy before use it, if your credit almost runs out, it would make beeping sound.
And the other ones is postpaid. It's the most common system. You use it, and pay it next month.
Now I am hearing beeping sound, so that's mean expense... I hope they change the sound into something more melodious instead of beep beep beep
How about electricity bill system at yours?

I have a postpaid electricity system, I don't know if they provide a prepaid one too. do they cut your electricity when you prepaid is over or give you some free electricity until you pay the next one?

I think some places people can prepay, but not in the area where I am. That might make people more careful.

In the United Kingdom some houses have pre pay meters. They make electric prices a lot more expensive than direct debit. In 2005 I moved to a house that had a pre pay meter. It was annoying as we had to load money at the Co-Op. It was terrible if we ran out of electric power. In 2010 I moved to bungalow where I could use direct debit. My electric bill is mixed with my gas bill.
