So another virus? Gee-whiz! No COVID test this time thank goodness!

I cannot give you the exact dates to everything as I cannot remember from the top of my head but I have now had 4 viruses this year thanks to doing Prac in childcare centres. I was sick in January which is normal as I only get sick in Summers now so I will push that to the side. Around June / July I was sick but it happened twice. One straight after the other. Had a COVID test around then. In October I got sick whilst being around children at Prac. Had a COVID test then too. (I remember that date, 26th of Oct I had test). So anyway, while I was getting better from that cold, on Tuesday, 10th of November, really early in the morning my throat was hurting. I used my phone light to look down at my throat in the mirror and I could see it was red. My voice had been pretty hoarse as well days before this. I was so confused because I was getting over my cold. Didn't understand why I was going backwards and getting new symptoms. So on the 10th Nov, I booked a phone appointment to get a doctor's note and to ask about my throat. And she suggested I go to the Respiratory Clinic to have someone actually look in case I needed antibiotics. I booked an appointment and was so worried I'd have another damn COVID test! I went there and thankfully I managed to dodge the test as I only just had it late October. But the lady looked down my throat and said "Yeah your throat is red raw. You have another virus sweety." I think she felt bad for me. She explained that it could have been 1 of a few viruses that were going around and if it got worse to come in again. Makes sense now. Basically another virus overlapped another one that I literally just got over. My throat doesn't hurt anymore and isn't as red. I'm still having that lingering cough though which sometimes makes me be sick. But who would like to make bets that when I do my next Prac, I will get sick again? I bet yes. Anyway thank you for reading. I know I will keep getting sick and if I actually work in a childcare centre, it will continue then too for awhile. For now as a student it's a bit frustrating and sometimes upsetting because it stops me from doing what I have to do. My next Prac is on the 30th November I'm pretty sure. See what happens but seriously, no doubt I will get sick again. And yes, I am taking things to help boost my immune system. Just not immune to the children yet.

@LadyDuck Thank you Anna. I did get better but I know you've seen my most recent post (catching up on notifications now) of me being sick again. For this cold, I am doing better thank you but I'm still having bad coughing fits and my nose still runs. I will have Prac tomorrow to make up for the time I lost, then two more days of class then on holidays.

@thelme55 Thankfully it's not painful. It's just a very uncomfortable feeling and luckily it's quick. Just not pleasant.

@VivaLaDani13 I am sorry that all this is happening to you. It is very hard to get sick all the time. I hope after this virus is gone you will not get sick working with kids.

@VivaLaDani13 That is not good news that you got sick again. So what is happening with your working with the kids since you get sick working with them? You are welcome.

@Hannihar For now, if....or rather WHEN I get sick, I try to push through but if I'm really not well enough personally and not well enough to be around others, I take time off to try and get better then when better I go back to make up for the days / hours lost. But this is where it gets tricky because my hours cannot wait. I need them all done before a certain time so it's hard getting sick, having time off, going back, then getting sick again.

These days there are so many things going around that it's really hard to stay healthy. One really needs a strong immune system.

When I work with littlies I seem NOT to get sick. It's as if they inoculate me with their snotty noses and sneeze baths. I hope you feel better soon! Oh, and I read well for a horse. Else I would have thought you were paying me a compliment! "pretty hoarse"

@TheHorse "Sneeze baths." That is classic! And thank you kindly. I am actually sick again for the 5th time right now. Starting to get really annoyed with it all. Silly cookie!

@JudyEv It really is. I was talking about it last night with my friend and saying how it's not so much the sickness that is annoying me ( I mean it is ) but it's the way it slows me down with my work, or if I want to see my Nanny and Poppy, or if I laugh I feel the need to cough along with it. Just irritating and I'm sick again for the 5th time.
