One of my friends is totally alone in his condo in Makati, Philippines. He sent me this photo and felt stressed out. His reason is that he cannot go back to his hometown due to this pandemic. Another reason, he needs to work. Honestly, I am so jealous because he can be alone and work for himself.
By the way, I am planning to apply for another master's degree. Starting tomorrow, I need to acquire the requirements for the Master of Science. I want to move to the next level and change my career path.
If you are not married or single, would you like to live alone?

To be honest I have done that. Since I am the eldest in our family, I tried to get away with the problems caused by another family member. I applied for a call center job since I have the experience. I did not tell my plans to anyone because I know some will not be happy about it . When I finally passed the training period , I did not go home for 2 years straight. I just stayed at our dorm and live alone. I pay my bills , rent, food, laundry and grocery. It was a great feeling .Im living alone with no worries like when Im at home. There is this uncle of mine whom I dont want to see because he is the reason my mom and dad got separated. But another lesson learned is that you will still comeback home if somethin happens .But I am happy I got to do those no regrets.

I did have moments of working and live alone. Like you, I have to leave the house to prove myself. There is no regret since I had learned so many things with my previous jobs in Manila. At that time, my late father is pressuring me. It is because he wanted me to be independent as the eldest in the family.

That is a great view. I remember having that view when I visit my former boyfriend in Guadalupe in college.
Goodluck on your new endeavor. Are you planning to be a professor?

Time will come that it's no longer fun when you're living alone. I was so used of having to depart and arrived home with the people around me. It's OK to be independent but I think being in solitude is a different story.
Good luck on your next endeavor.

@hereandthere I will take Master of Science. I am not sure if it will happen online. As of now, I am trying to secure the requirements for the application. I think it is related to my previous jobs, which is community development.

Try living alone first. That way you get to enjoy your own company.

@sophie09 I had tried to live on my own while working in my previous jobs before. I had enjoyed being away from home.
I agree that we need to experience being alone @yoalldudes

Oh nice view from his condo. I guess the effect of being alone can have a very negative effect especially if you just could not travel to your family anytime soon. For now you might feel jealous because you are with your family right now. I think it's a different feeling for now that you wanted to work alone.

I am married, and both my husband and I need some alone time. We have different rest days from work, so we can do stuff that we want to do which the other one may not want to do. For instance, my husband does not like watching horror movies. During my rest days, I watch all of these and get my horror kick during my alone time.
I think it's healthy to have some alone time for our own growth and well-being. However, if it is something that makes us feel lonely or sad, then it's time to reach out to friends and family.
When I am working, I prefer to be alone too. I get more work done, but in my position, that is not possible. I have a group to lead, and lost of locations to cover.

I believe your friend does not see how lucky he is. He wants to go home but cannot so he is stuck and that is not a good feeling. Congrats with your degree. I am very independent and am not single and no longer married so I live with my cat and like it because no one can tell me what to do or how to live my life.
