Good morning. During this pandemic i always do my campus stuff and study from home. And i feel like during the pandemic im getting fatter haha. My weight is increasing. I remember those days where i had to go to campus early and skipped breakfast and had lunch at 12pm my weight is stable and i was on my ideal weight.
But now during these days i always have my breakfast everymorning and i can see that my weight is now increasing. Do you think breakfast can do that?

@GodServantme Wow! That's great! However, exercised bodies look firmer after losing all that weight.

What are you eating for breakfast? And are you physically active? I guess it depends on your situation. I actually lost a lot of weight when this pandemic started . . . but now I feel that I'm better balanced in weight. We never get food from restaurants (home cooking only) and we do a lot of walking.

@sophie09 Personally, first I think it was stress. Then I think it was because we were budgeting the food and eating just enough. This led me to believe portion really does matter. And then we never ordered or ate restaurant food since March . . . before we were eating out quite a bit - so cooking at home ALL the time made a difference. I always walked before, but I think I've been more active in the yard and cleaning the home inside out and such. Rice . . . I love my rice, believe me as I am Asian too . . . but not eating too much of that makes a difference too.

Depends on what you are eating. But supposed to be Breakfast should not be fattening because you have slept 8 hours and your tummy is just empty by that time. What really is fattening is the dinner meals because if you overeat that night it might not be digested fully because you will rest already and excesses will become fats during the night.

Yes it's possible and also it's because you are relaxed and you don't have stress of commuting to school everyday.

Actually, no. It's actually dangerous to skip a meal, more importantly breakfast. Eating breakfast itself, isn't causing you to gain weight. It's the fact you're less active. You stayed at your ideal weight because you were active enough to accommodate whatyou're taking in. Now that you're staying home more, going out less, that ratio has been affected. Try starting an at-home exercises regime you can stick to. The pounds will start to melt off.

@sophie09 Exactly. The less you do, the more weight you gain. I always make it a habit to reach my goal of at least 4,000 steps a day. Even on days my husband and I go out. (I'm in a wheelchair, and most of my "steps" are actually wheelchair pushes) but, the point is, I try to stay active. Set a low, but realistic goal, and stick to it.

I gained weight too. I think it is because of the less activities that we cannot burn during the pandemic. Also, I noticed I gain weight if I eat rice in the morning so I do not eat rice for breakfast. I prefer to have it for brunch or lunch

@sophie09 What suits one person doesn't suit another so you have to find something that works for you. I have smaller portions now and, if I think I want food, I ask myself if I'm really hungry or not. Half the time I'm not so I'll just have a glass of water instead.

Hehe..... I put on weight too.
Taking breakfast is actually good and healthy but yes 1 logic is there what I practically do too.....
That If i don't eat in the morning then my body will use the fat stored and I can get slim that way (I eat late and less so it doesn't get stored in the body as fat)

I think breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

It depends on what your eating but if you're not exercising much that could be the bigger culprit.
