Always wanted to attend the Chihuly Glass Festival. It is back in Nashville and just extended through January.
The exhibits are spectacular. A friend has invited me, but we will wait and see how things go. Probably will try to attend in January, after the holidays. Less people hopefully.
It is held at Cheekwood estate and gardens and will be beautiful. There have been many previews on the news. So pretty at night to see this glass all lit up. I prefer this over any Christmas festivals. Just my preference.
I have watched documentaries on how Dale Chihuly started this business. Amazing the talent he and his staff have. I shared a link if you are interested in watching.
The photo above is from his website, not mine.

I love Cheekwood and I love Chihuly, he was a student at RISDI in Providence and they have lots of his work. I have gone to several exhibits all over the country. I used to want to go to the Chihuly Museum in Seattle but now Seattle is such an unsettled place I don't want to go there anymore. In normal times I would contact the CVB and try to get them to bring me to the exhibit, they have brought me in twice before, oh lucky you, I'm so jealous.

@CarolDM Opyland always has great lights and they had a wonderful Chrismas Market one year when I was there. The shop at Cheekwood always has something I can't live without.

That's fabolous, Carol. I've never heard of him before. I like the cylinders and 'paintings'. I saw glass being made at site chemical do back when I was in school on a tour which I'm sure it's no longer done.
I don't like museums but I would go see this too.

Very cool! Especially the nighttime views. It reminded me of a place I visited called Longwood Gardens located in Pa. There creativity was in the indoor flower displays. But they also had these nighttime exhibits which I enjoyed.

I hope you will be able to go! There was a Chihuly Show at the Catalina Island Museum when we went a few years back . . . but ugh, we got to the museum right when it closed . We did however get to talk with a few people who helped work on the exhibitions - that was cool.

In West Virginia we have Blenko glass. I love to go and watch them make it and occasionally buy a piece
