Look at the adorable face and innocent eyes Who would ever want to eat something like that ?????? I do not think any restaurants or meat stalls here are selling rabbit meat, unless the rabbit meat is the selling point of the restaurant, which again I think no one is doing. Atleast in my city. Many don't prefer rabbit meat here. Have you ever eaten rabbit mean ?

Rabbits are widely hunted here for meat even when it is banned by law. It is sad that we have to kill innocent animals for us to survive but it is rule of nature otherwise we will have to starve. Chicken or fish we eat are also innocent.

Rabbit was a staple food when I was a child, but a disease the rabbits contracted put them off the menu for years.

@KityCat You could say the same about any of the creatures that we eat. But a lot of them would have no lives at all if they weren't bred for their meat. I have no problem with that as long as they are treated well.

I have tried it...my husband likes to hunt small game once in awhile, so I've tried rabbit and grey squirrel both done in a crockpot. Rather gamey that way, I'm not a fan.

Since I made a living by breeding rabbits when I was a student, I have a peace treaty with rabbits and I don't eat them anymore. But I still eat hare meat.

I only hear of rabbits being eaten at high-end restaurants. It's not something I'd look for at the local wal-mart. Granted, I had three rabbits as pets, so I could never see myself actually eating one.
