Disappointments Can Be Forgiven

So I was watching this Korean drama and the guy made a promise to this little girl but he didn't deliver on his promise. The other guy was complaining about “How dare he promise a child something and not follow through … blah blah blah.”
And I'm thinking to myself: 'I had an uncle who used to do that all the time!'
After a few disappointments, my brothers and I realized our uncle couldn't always be depended on to keep his promises. If he said he was going to do something we'd be like … Yeah. Uh huh.
However …
There was this one time.
The Jackson 5 was going to be performing and my uncle promised he would get tickets and take us to see the live show.
He actually came through!!
Woo hoo!! That concert was awesome! Little Michael Jackson singing his heart out and his brothers backing him up with their vocals and all of their choreographed dance moves.
For all the times my uncle had disappointed us, he was forgiven.

The unfortunate fact is people will disappoint us throughout our life. Our strength will come when we forgive them.

I think he was between 8 to 10 years old. He was so little so people thought he was younger.

I read somewhere way back when that he got started in the business at the age of 5 but you know how the media can be @cmoneyspinner

That was a great one for him to redeem himself with. I wonder whether he ever recognized while he was promising all the other things that he would never back it up or if he always had good intentions but somehow forgot?

I would like to think that he meant to follow through but something prevented him. He had kids of his own, my cousins. He probably disappointed them too.
