Country Roads.

My older sister and her good friend, both in their 80s and living alone, have no family members in the small town where they reside. It's a very small town (less than 5000) but it's the county seat of their county, population around 20000. Since they are following all the guidelines of medical personnel during the pandemic, they don't get out much, but one of the things they liked to do is go for drives in the area where they live. After doing this for several weeks they decided they'd like to travel all the roads of their county. My sister even went to their county courthouse to ask how many miles of highway there were in their county. Their goal during this pandemic is to travel all of them. I don't know whether they've gotten to all of them yet, but I think that's such a neat idea. Better than sitting around feeling sorry for yourself.

Very nice idea. We have driven down a few different country roads during this pandemic too

There are times when you just need to get out of the house.

@paigea We haven't seen snowy owls, but we have some large owls that come around periodically and talk to us.

I think they probably did complete it. That's what they did instead of sitting at home.

I think they're enjoying it but I'm sure they'll be ready to get back to other activities once the pandemic is over.

I think it's a wonderful idea. I want to do the same thing. Sitting home too much is not good.

Being stuck inside a home is not fun. We all need something to challenge us.

They both live alone and certainly need a way to safely get out of the house.

I don't think it takes too much energy, and during the pandemic they don't have much else to do.
