My Additional Expenses...LOL

I am sure some of you will agree that we have additional expenses brought by this coronavirus. As of today, I went out to buy two boxes of disposable face masks and three pieces of face shields. The face shields are just a reserve to be used if the old ones are worn out. On the other hand, face masks are being used and disposed of after using them. It makes me adjust my budget for family consumption monthly. Have you noticed that it increases your expenses due to this pandemic?

Normally I would spend RM60++ for face mask as I use tie on instead of earloop. Now, I use fabric mask at work. They're complete with company name on it. So I only buy washable filter. I managed to find one that's good enough and can be washed 15 times. I tried the disposable one before. They're too soft and end up sliding down in the mask. I even tried one of the pm2.5 filter. I can't breath in that one

Yes, they take time to dry, but you get a few and they dry overnight

@Shavkat That's why I have more than one. I use two at work per day. Change after my second break. I have extra two for the next day. I have to requested for another set as they come in pair, in case all four were damp.

There are so many styles of face masks here, too. I am considering using the washable ones, but it takes time to be dried off.

I only bought one since August but I force myself to buy one yesterday because I forgot to bring my face shield on the way to the SSS office.

How's the environment in the SSS office? I hope it is not that crowded and follow physical distancing. I will do the same thing if I forgot mine.

@Shavkat Not crowded unlike before because you need to secure appointment to be entertained. My companion has secured hers and I go there together.

Actually, no. I can't wear face masks so I don't buy or own any. My husband wears them at work, and the few he has were provided by his job or places that offered him a "free mask".

I cannot blame you since I cannot breathe with it. However, I still need to wear them if going out. It is nice that they were given free to your husband.

As to wear a disposable face mask is mandatory, the face mask cost is covered by National Healthcare.

My face mask is washable. We don't need face shields yet. I'm sorry you have added expense because of the virus.

It seems that I am becoming paranoid lately. I do have washable face masks, but it makes me panicky. So I prefer to use disposable ones for now.

We have bought a lot of masks, but that is because there were some good deals haha but i since they are reusable masks, we just lysol them and then wash them, we don't like making a lot of waste.

I've switched to washable face masks and to more expensive but durable face shields. I have eight face masks but have only used three so far in rotation while I have two face shields.

The Chinese virus and pandemic-alarm affected economy, joblessness and individuals. But we see 2021 shaping up again.

I am with you. Things will be fine soon. The vaccines had been administered to the people of the UK and the rest of the people around the world will have them.
11 Dec 20
@Shavkat I don't take the vaccines. Not this one, either.
ADE means that rather than enhance your immunity against the infection, the vaccine actually enhances the virus’ ability to enter and infect your cells.

You're absolutely right, Because you can't go out if you will not wear those or else you will get penalized.

I agree. I sometimes laugh because we have additional basic needs due to this coronavirus.

We use washable mask, so no. The expense doesn't increase, but the income does decrease.

We have a supply of face masks from the office so I don't need to buy. But I bought 2 dozens of face shield as reserve just in case the one I am using was damaged. I oftentimes forgot the face shield inside the car so it ended up being deformed because of heat. I also have some cloth face mask because I prefer using it. But because I am sweating a lot, I need to changed more often. So I always keep extra in my bag.
