A wreath gets recycled - again

I wrote about this last year but I’ll do a rehash as I’ve changed the colours. I’ve made a wreath to hang on our front door. I love that it’s recycled from a small piece of flexible hose covered with tinsel. So easy but I think it looks very effective.
We’ve finished decorating our tree so soon I’ll be putting up a photo of that.
I’ll have limited time here for a day or two. We will leave shortly to attend a funeral tomorrow in Ravensthorpe. It’s a four hour drive so we’re driving there today and coming home on Sunday.
Although it’s sad, it’s a good chance to catch up with a lot of old friends that we don’t see very often as they’re so far away. We spent 18 months in the town when we were first married and another four years there later. So many memories – good and bad.

That looks great! One problem I have is that I've moved house so much, I've lost all the old bits and pieces you'd normally keep "just in case", so when it comes to a project like this, I don't have the raw materials lying around. I can't even find my tinsel, which I don't remember throwing out - lost in one of my moves, I guess.

We've been in this house for 17 years now and, while I've been decluttering, I've tried to keep anything that might be remotely useful. I'd be lost without my odd bits and pieces as I don't really like paying out for frivolous things.

That looks really good. I would try something like that if I had any discarded hose around. I saw some Christmas trees today that looked they were a wire framed covered with pipe cleaners with some artificial snow on...looked really cute actually. Sorry about your friend. It is sad for sure.

@JudyEv I can be creative with certain things, but figuring out things to make isn't one of them. I have to be inspired by an idea somewhere.

@snowy22315 That's pretty much how it is with me too. I looked up Christmas decorations last night and I have a few ideas now of things I can make from stuff around the house.

@crazyhorseladycx It's a long journey there and, as you get older, you're less inclined to make it - but such an event is an incentive to make a little extra effort.

I did put wire in it but if you taped the two ends, it should make a nice circle. I think it is the same as dryer hose. You could probably do something similar just with a piece of old garden hose but being slimmer, it might take more tinsel.

have as good a time as possible. It is hard when you are remembering one who is gone, with people you haven't seen in a long time.

pretty wreath. My best friend made mine. She didn't use a flexible hose though.

That's a beautiful wreath. I like recycling and encourage it all the time. I will wait for the picture of your tree. My daughters are planning to put up the tree this weekend.

@JudyEv You are right. There are better use for that money. And spreading smiles to needy ones is definitely the best use
