Hello all and to all of my Jewish friends out there I want to wish you a Happy Hannuka.
It is that time of year now. Hannuka started last night. Our holidays go by the Hebrew calendar and in the non-Jewish calendar they are not same each year. Hannuka is celebrated for 8 days. The light was only supposed to burn for one night and instead lasted for 8 nights. That is why we celebrate it 8 days. We light what you call a Hannukia each night of the holiday and we eat potato pancakes and jelly donuts and spin a dreidl. For those that do not know about our holiday and want to learn more I am providing a link here for you to read at your leisure:

Hannuka started on Thursday night and we light our first candle that night. We eat potato pancakes and jelly donuts. Each night we light a candle for the holiday. I will put a link here so you can read about the holiday and get more information:

I think Hannuka is probably the Jewish celebration that we know the most about mostly because it always falls so close to Christmas. I know it way late but I hope your 8 days were filled with light and love.

Hannuka was earlier in 2020 and it went fast. A lot of the time it is around when you celebrate Christmas.

We light candles each night of the holiday. We start lighting the evening it starts and finish the 7th day and the last day which is the 8th day is the last day fo the holiday and no candles lit on that day. Yes, it is the Festival of Lights and also Hannuka means Dedication.

Is that the only comparison? Why is your festival called the festival of lights? Hannuka is not only the Festival of Lights and it means Dedication.
