Usually I make fun of Tom Cruise because he worships Aliens and his ex-wives have a 5 year marriage contract but he does care about the movie industry.
The movie industry struggles because of Covid 19, Since February he has been always wearing a mask. We have stupid celebrities like the Kardashians who hosted a party where no people wear masks.
Tom Cruise takes wearing a mask seriously. To make sure the filming of his film is safe, All actors and crew got intensive Covid testing and instead of staying in a hotel, he rented a Cruise ship so they won't interact with people who might have covid.
Tom Cruise only removes his masks during the filming on the movie but all crews are wearing mask. He caught a movie crew not wearing a mask on set and he scolded him. One of the crew recorded his angry banter. He warned the crew he will be fired if he breaks the covid safety rules because it puts everyone on danger. He said many people lost job and the industry is currently suffering so he will not risk one of the crew getting covid because it will shut down the movie industry.
he scolded that crew that refuses to wear mask with all his anger because that crew pits everyone in danger.

FURIOUS Tom Cruise tore into workers who broke Covid rules on the set of Mission: Impossible screaming: “If I see you doing it again, you’re f***ing gone.”Th...

I'm watching a clip of this on TV right now - an entertainment news show. Wow, he really did lash out! But well, I think a bunch of us who are trying to be super strict can relate. There are times when we could have let someone have it (like at the store). We hear about how Hollywood really is being strict from our neighbor (he works behind the scenes and knows all too well he is lucky to get any work right now). So good for Tom on this one (even though I'm not a big fan of his anymore) - he was just trying to do the right thing.

Yeah the film crew is lucky to have a Job while most people don't have any. i stopped going to groceries because of those people who refuses to wear a mask. They don't care about the safety of others. Crews should take this seriously because actors have to remove their mask during filming.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Out here, everyone seems to comply about the masks inside public places, but not necessary about outdoor spaces. We just have to be extra cautious ourselves. Right . . . if the movie industry gets shut down because of their slip ups, Tom Cruise would surely forever be associated with that (and he knows it). Not good when you already have a bad rep. So I'm glad he's showing that he is quite serious about this virus.

@much2say His health is also at risk because he have to remove his mask during filming. I was thinking though if CGI can remove facial hair ( Henry Cavill refuses to shave his face but his face is smooth whenever he plays Superman thanks to CGI) I wonder if CGI can remove face shields and face masks.

The film has been delayed multiple times that's why he take this seriously. Last february 8 people got infected during filming.

It's normal for him to be mad. The filming got delayed few times, he put his money in this movie, the crews should be grateful they still have jobs when most people struggling. If something happen people would blame him for not being strict enough to his crews. He is tired and feed up with everything.

Many people rather get arrested than wear a mask.

He is also a a borderline senior citizen now so he is very vulnerable from the virus. Sure he looks young but he is still pushing 60 years old.

I finally saw a video footage. He is scolding a man and woman who too close together and ignores social distancing. They started wearing mask when he scolded them.

@CaptAlbertWhisker He was right, some stupid people still think that this virus is nothing more than a winter flu.
