What is something you've never done but would really like to try?

With the pandemic and all the restrictions on what we can and can't do these days, I got to thinking of all the things I miss doing that I used to just take for granted. But that also got me thinking about things I've maybe dreamed of doing but thought I never would, or things I'd like to do but wouldn't dare, or things that I dream that one day I might do – – like publishing a bestselling romance book!
I've always wanted to do the following things but either never had the opportunity, or the resources (like the money!) or the courage:
1. Hang glide. I wouldn't have any big issues doing this because I'm not scared of heights or anything like that, but I think it's quite expensive and you need to do a lot of training. But I'd love to float above the world like a bird, feel the wind in my hair, and look down from far away.
2. Scuba-diving. Going the other direction, now! I think it must be so cool to go down under the sea and see all the corals and the fish and stuff. I would totally love to do that. But for the same reasons I haven't been hang gliding, I don't know if it will ever be possible. Maybe when I write a bestseller!
3. This one might sound a bit weird, but I've always thought it would be great to learn how to meditate. I just think the idea of getting all that peace and tranquility inside whatever's going on around you must be a fantastic experience. I guess there's no reason I shouldn't do this, but it maybe takes more discipline than I've got at the moment. Sort of tried it, but I just fell asleep!
I'd love to hear from other people what kind of things you dream of, or would like to do but don't dare, or will do one day just as soon as you get the chance. I bet they'll all be more interesting than mine!

I have always wanted to try sky diving. I have tried indoor sky diving, so I have a very slight idea on how the wind and free fall will feel. My husband have done it multiple times, even solo, and he is willing to arrange everything for me. But I always chicken out. One of these day, I will finally do it. I have no idea when and where, but I really want to get this checked off my bucket list.

Hi Raine! Wow, I think you're incredibly brave. I have no problem with heights of flying or anything like that but the idea of freefalling from such a huge height… Well, let's just say, I totally understand why you chicken out! But I've heard that it's actually safer than crossing the road, so I guess it's a case of reasoning your way out of the instinctive fear if you can. I hope one day you do it and I hope it's amazing!

@AliceInWonderland18 I'd love for @Gianna to answer that, too! I've always loved the old musicals -- I'm a huge fan of Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, and Gene Kelly, and all those old guys! -- and the Broadway scene. Maybe you two will end up working together! Oscars all round!

Hi Jovana! Being an actress must be wonderful! Do you work in theater or films, or maybe both? If you keep working hard and make smart choices, I reckon you have as much chance as anyone to get that Oscar down the line! I wish you all the best. Thank you so much for sharing your dream.

Omg! I have a similar dream. To be on Broadway or just to be in musical theater plays :))
That's cool. What roles did you play? Are you a theater or film actress? :)

Mine sounds simple yet I haven't done it yet because it is not the right time yet. I wanted to learn photography, go to different places, write about those places and earn from doing it. But I am currently employed so I can't do it as of yet. I already know how to set up a website and I believe I can earn if I will try this plan but I don't want to sacrifice my current work. So maybe, I need to save first to buy the best SLR and working laptop and other gadgets. If I could do it while I have my day job, I would try it. For now, my priority is to save more.

Hi Aries! Thank you so much for that interesting response. It seems to me that you could definitely make a living doing that and really enjoy it at the same time. Basically, it sounds like you'd like to be a travel blogger/photographer. But I do think you're smart to keep the day job while you figure out how you could realize this dream. I guess you could start locally. I mean, any interesting places that you could photograph and write about that are near where you live and you could do in your time off from work or on the weekend or whatever. Maybe in the long run you'd like to fly off to exotic places but just to get up and running maybe that's an idea? Anyways, thank you so much for sharing and I wish you every success! I bet you can do it!

@Borlotti Thanks for the good wishes! Yes, we have lots of beautiful places around. Our country is surrounded with water so there are many beaches and other natural tourist spots worth exploring. I really hope I could start soon.

@ARIES1973 That sounds like a beautiful place where you live! I'm sure you could get started by writing about and photographing your local tourist spots. Good luck and best wishes with the project and please let me know when you get your website up so I can take a look!

@Borlotti I've always wanted to ride a plane but I don't have anywhere to go to that requires for me to ride an airplane Second on my list is to ride a train. I like to ride whatever kind of train may be available. Since my city does not have one yet that will have to remain in my to-do list!

Hi Carmela! I love your reply, it's so cool. I've never been on an aeroplane, either. But I've been on quite a few trains all right. If you could fly anywhere you wanted without having to worry about time or cost or anything like that, where would you fly to?

@gamayngbaki Yeah, Japan does sound amazing. I love the traditional clothes of Japan and I think Japanese food sounds interesting, too. Japanese culture and society is very formal, though, isn't it? Or maybe that's just the way people in "the west" perceive it to be. What do you think?

Well, I wanted to travel abroad more and see my family in Spain this year. I also wanted to go to the beach for the first time just me and my friends, driving more, seeing the beauty of my country with them. I also wanted to work for the first time somewhere. I had a contract with an orchestra for 10 concerts but all were canceled.
Mainly this.
I just hope that I will be able to go to Sweden for university, to do what I love, when I want, and with who I want.
About meditation. I do that sometimes. You can use a lot of apps like Serenity. It was the best for me. It has a lot of lessons :) Give it a try.
~hugs~

Hi Lil' Alice! So, you're a musician? I'm sorry that your concerts with the orchestra were canceled. That's very sad. Was that because of the pandemic? I think it's been tough on a lot of artists and performers. I hope you'll be able to go to Sweden and University there to study and move forward on your own terms. I'm sure you will, too, if you keep positive and do what you can.
Thanks for the tips about meditation. I'll check out that app. Sounds like it could be what I need to help me keep up the discipline.

@AliceInWonderland18 How wonderful to have such talent and play all those instruments -- and sing, too! I've never learned anything like that. I hope that the situation will be resolved as soon as possible and you will be able to play and sing again in front of a live and appreciative audience. I'm sure it will happen soon.
Yes, I work. But I don't do anything wonderful like what you do. I'm just a cleaner for an agency. I clean private homes and offices for businesses. But for now I don't work because of the restrictions. So, it's not very creative work -- but somebody has to do it!

@Borlotti Yes. I am a flutist :) I also play the guitar, the ukulele and I sing, but my main instrument is the flute. I was supposed to start my contract with the first concert in March but we were quarantined. It was funny that they announced us one day before my birthday, so I needed to cancel the party and everything =)))
Thank you very much for your support. I really appreciate it.
What about you? Do you work/study?
I hope that that app will help you :) Good luck with it.

Very nice topic! Since childhood, I wanted to be an astronaut. I had a few snail-mail written to them and also got a response in terms of fantastic original photos!
But, I could not become an astronaut, but I still want to and give it a try!

Hi nitsbubb! Thanks so much for sharing that dream. I'm not scared of heights or anything like that but I think I'd worry going out into space! I really admire all the brave women and men who have been and are astronauts. It just blows me away how amazing it all is! I hope one day you get to dance on the moon and run rings around Saturn. Thanks again for sharing. Great response!
