A Very, Very, Special Friday for Us

It’s my favorite day of the week. But today is extra special. Today is my wonderful husband’s birthday, was the birthday of his mother (what a special birthday gift), and it’s Friday date night!
I’m making a rack of lamb, roasted baby potatoes, and roasted brussel sprouts for dinner. It’s hubby’s favorite meal. No cake!
He received a ton of gifts from family and friends and has been on the phone since he woke up. He is loved by so many.

One of my gifts has been delayed in arriving, but that’s okay. It will be a bonus surprise birthday gift when it arrives tomorrow or Monday.

@kobesbuddy Most people don't call here during dinner. Today is a special day for hubs, so that's why it's crazy. He's on the phone now as I write this.
Otherwise, he and his buddies do their gabbing in the morning. The rest of the time it's him making business calls, but always before dinner.

@DianneN Whenever Jay gets time away from the job, his phone starts hopping off the hook! All day long, this happens constantly. Dinner-time? I ask him to PLEASE turn his phone off for 1/2 hour!

My husband never ate vegetables until he met me. He still won't touch beets or avocados - silly man.

Looks like the mood for good food celebration are on the line for you there. I have been a bit busy today too since it was our company xmas party. We had ours made online and no face to face party this year. We just had food delivered to homes of the employees and meet online after that to celebrate our annual party. It’s a different feel a bit awkward not being able to mingle with co workers but its a good feeling that we’re still able to enjoy each other’s company despite being quarantined.

Your party sounds very sensible and I'm sure everyone had a good time, despite the circumstances. Better safe than sorry. There are too many people celebrating everything and keeping the virus going here.

Totally awesome. Happy birthday to a great guy. (One of my husband's Christmas gifts just started to be worked on so he might get it by his birthday and that is in June! I sent the people making the gift money in October.) I love your photo.
