Pandemic effect

This pandemic has changed a lot of our daily routines. Everyone has been forced to do an online schooling. Some are still reporting for work at their workplaces, and some are lucky to be able to work at home. While some are unlucky to be affected by company downsizing ang lost their jobs. This pandemic is really awful, the kids are unable to play outside with their friends at the playground anymore, dining out with family are lesser or, even none. Travel for leisure is on hiatus. Hugs are not rare, and keeping a distance is showing we care.
This pandemic made us all reflect that a lot of things were taken for granted because we thought it'll always be available. I wish all these will be over so we can all enjoy the little things.

Yes, this pandemic has changed the world dramatically but there is so much to learn from what has happened and is happening and why it happened! The lessons that we learn will benefit some for eternity. We have to be a good student of events and life. We have to look at the big picture and not miss the boat.

I like your point. This is so true, we really have a lot to learn and we really should learn from this pandemic. And during these times, I am able to appreciate a lot of things that I didn't notice then when I was busy hustling on my job. This pandemic made me stay home and work remotely, and while I'm on this setup, I am able to give more time for my family, and for myself. I discovered new hobbies that I didn't know I'd be able to enjoy.

@jainaproudmoore Yes, there is much we can learn and much we can do in spite of the difficulties and we have more time to think about the more serious things in life.

Exactly! Businesses are vanishing, wearing masks is the norm, and news is daily now to keep up with latest local changes. Dr.Oz said vaccines are a way to curve pandemic, so masks might be here forever?

Looks like masks will be here for quite some time if that's the case. So much has happened in a span of a year. I'm really rooting for the vaccine to work. It's not the cure, but at least it'll flatten the curve. I hope to be able to wake up one day doing the same routine as before this pandemic broke.

That is very true that everything is affected in some ways and we all are suffering from this pandemic in many different ways. I hope too that we might be able to survive through this snd learn something better to make our lives healthy and stable for everyone.

@jainaproudmoore Hopefully we will learn from this historically we have had similar issues before in 1918 spanish flu pandemic. We got away that one but again similar circumstances are happening again. I think this is a century cycle of things.

We most definitely will learn a lot of lessons from this. There are so much abrupt changes that transpired and some of them aren't that easy to bear for some. And when all these will be over, we will have so much to share to our future descendants.

The only thing I find messed up, is the staying away shows we care. Everything else, well... if you're a traveler, I suppose it would suck for you. If you've never been that big on it, well. Then you have nothing to worry about. Money used to spend on travel could be used elsewhere. Online schooling has always been an option for students. For years, there have been online-only school programs. While I am a firm believer that children need in-person learning, I also believe it's nice to have our options open.
As for not hugging someone, well again that's your choice. While times have changed and things are out of our control, we have the right as people to take control of what we can.

I used to be really exposed outside due to work that I decided not to hug and kiss my nephews as I'm afraid of getting and passing this invisible enemy which is the virus. Now that we have been mandated to just work remotely, I am confident in hugging and kissing my nephews again.
I used to be really big on travelling. But, yes, like you said, travel money is now channeled elsewhere. As for online schooling, I am on online schooling for my second course. It's not new to me, but online schooling for elementary school kids is quite a challenge for working moms. I don't have kids on my own, but I look after my nephews' during their online class as their parents aren't on a remote work setup. Plenty of things to adjust on, but we're starting to get used to it. I also think in-person learning is much suitable for kids, but online learning makes us even more creative in teaching the kids.

@jainaproudmoore I hope that these vaccines would not give adverse effects on people. I read an article that some people who were vaccinated are experiencing allergic reactions.

So much has changed in just a span of less than a year because of this pandemic. I hope the vaccines really works, because it's something that has been formulated/developed in just a span of few months wherein most vaccines takes years of study. Nonetheless, I'm still rooting for it to work. I can't wait to go back to those times where we can move around freely.

Some of the good things, I guess, is like we're going back to basics, like staying home more often and we are able to bond with our family. We also get more time to give to ourselves and open opportunities for ourselves to build more hobbies.
