Gathered 'round, on this here night, reading books at candle's light. Sweet memories of Christmas far, one year after the Second World War. Gathered 'round, in feel of love, unaware of angels above. A little twig, the spirit there, sweet memories of loving care. My father then, was far away, in Indonesia he had to stay. He came home, bruised but whole, he gave nurture to my soul One candle and a little twig, made our Christmas still real big. Gathered 'round, some candies sweet, the Christmas Spirit, what else you need. Merry Christmas to you all and stay safe. (I'm the little one in the middle)

A charming poem and a charming picture. I love them both. My father had also been away for the duration of the war so was pretty much a stranger to us. We managed to build a good relationship later though.

Thanks, we always have a quiet Christmas. It's not custom here to give presents. People are doing it more and more though but we don't. 1st. Christmas day was a lovely sunny day, before and after it rained almost the whole day.
