Do you like my ears?

We visited my sister last weekend and I was able to get my goat fix again. My nephew is now milking 28 goats. About half are Saanens and the rest Nigerian dwarf goats. His milking machine milks two at a time but it is still quite a long process. He has sold some and is trying to sell more. Each doe usually has two or three kids and some have four so the numbers explode every kidding season.
I liked this little fellow with his mottled ears. And can you see that the pupil of the eye is rectangular, rather than circular? I read about that once so now I check out each goat to see if they’re all the same. They do seem to be.

@JudyEv This is what I found researching:
Goats are herbivores, and need to be able to protect themselves when a predator comes along. A broad line of sight, aided by wide, rectangular-shaped pupils, allows them to see danger approaching from their peripheral vision.

@JudyEv I have a thing for spots. On my goats and horses. But I look at how friendly they are more.

The goat looks great sounds like he is going into goat breeding. Goat cheese is quite the thing these days! Happy Christmas see you around next year!

I didn't notice anything unusual in him unless I read the post. Rectangular pupil... I was not aware of it. When I see it again, I feel I might have seen it in another goats and failed to notice. My grandma had two goats and I consumed their milk. Don't remember about their pupil though.

@JudyEv I wouldn't. I fail to notice such things but yes , some people are keen observer. They will notice very little things too.

These have all been hand-fed from babies so they are all quite tame.

@JudyEv Perfectly normal. Animals like horses, goats, and impala spend most of their time grazing, and need to be able to be aware of the presence of predators all around them, especially while their head is down near the ground during grazing.

@JudyEv Goat's milk is very healthy. Sometimes I feel so sorry that I live in the capital and I don't have conditions for animals.

@JudyEv I know, but it's better to do something that fills you with pleasure than something you don't like
