Christmas 2020

How was everyone's Christmas? Are you still celebrating or taking down your decor?
My Christmas was wonderful. I had all my kids and grandkids in my home. We had so much love and laughter. I did miss my best friend, though. She was not able to come because she was home recovering from covid. The worst part was not being able to see my mom. The nursing home is holding her hostage and has been since May because of the covid scam. She is alone and not able to see her children. That kind of lonliness and sadness will kill faster than any virus which is proof the government and medical personnel do not really care about people. Other than that, it was a great Christmas.
My decorations are still up. I leave them up until the end of January. I will continue to have Christmas parties throughout next month. I am one of those who listen to Christmas music all year round. I love celebrating faith and family. There is something so comforting in knowing that the King of Kings left His throne to become a helpless baby, live among us, then die to save us from God's wrath because of our sin. The best part of the story is celebrated in the spring when we celebrate Jesus' resurrection. His story is the greatest story ever told.

We celbrated in our own way. George hasn't started to take down the lights, but I suspect he will come January. With his work schedule and the drop intemps, we usually wait until mid Jan to do it. Right now, George is cutting some hamstake for our dinner.
I'm with you on this whole scam. My mother-in-law is trapped in a nursing home, too. My sister-in-law can't even pick her up to go to the doctor. She's not allowed outside at all.

What I find ironic is that some of these elderly people who have been under lock and key and not allowed to see a single soul from the outside is still getting the virus. Obviously, there medical incarcerations are not working.
I didn't get all my Christmas lights up, outside, this year because of cold temperatures. The older I get, the less I can tolerate the cold.

@gnatsmom You know, I find that odd, too. The odd thing, is according to my sister in law, my mother-in-law had to quarenteen for two weeks (not allowed out of her room) because she tested positive for the virus. She never showed any illness, and is still very much alive (she's 91 years-old) If this virus was as contagious as claimed, it wouldn't be killed boy soap. No one would recommend you leave anything, especially food, outside for a day or more. It's a bunch of bs, and those who did get sick... the symptoms could be psychosomatic.
You hear the first sign of covid, was a cold or cold-like symptoms. So, a person gets a cold or the flu, and run to the nearest e.r. and surprise wouldn't you know it? They have covid. What do the well-trained medical personal say? Stay home for two weeks, and you'll be fine... Hmmm.... same advice you'd expect from a cold or the flu....
Yeah, my husband is the same way in regards to the cold. He's also skin and bones. so doesn't surprise me.

I cannot say Christmas was bad. I am a Hindu. But I felt celebrating anything after so much of COVID depressive mood was worth it. I baked a cake and it turned out really nice. So I was beaming .. usually we buy nowadays. Moreover, I baked a fortnight ago after 15 years. So if you thought what's so great about baking a cake, think again. The previous one was kinda failure. This one...good.

We had a wonderful Christmas celebration. It was just us for now due to the pandemic but still I enjoyed our time together. My child was so excited to open his gifts even few days before Christmas. The moment he wakes up, he would ask me if it is Christmas day. He would count the days til Christmas as he was so excited with all his gifts. Finally at midnight on Christmas, he was so happy to open all the gifts. It was a pleasant thing to see your child happy opening his gifts and the excitement in his eyes were hard to describe. It was just pleasing to see

I don't celebrate Christmas, so for me it's just another holiday day. Enjoy your partner...
