Vanilla, the default ice cream flavor

Yes, vanilla flavored ice cream is like the “base” for other flavors and/or toppings. I don’t usually enjoy eating vanilla ice cream except if it comes with other toppings or drips. But as it is, it’s just too plain and dull for me. I prefer eating other flavorful ice cream like chocolates, coffee, mocha or fruit flavored ones with nuts, mallows, choco bits and dried fruits for added texture.
Though I won’t be eating any ice cream soon because the weather is cold, all the sweet desserts surrounding me today reminded me of ice creams.

I’ve tried it but I don’t feel good and my throat doesn’t like it too when I eat cold foods on cold days. Well, it may just be me.

@pitsipeahie You are correct it is a "plain" ice cream flavor. I love nuts with chocolate.

I don’t say base here to mean literal ‘base’ in making ice cream. But base in a way that vanilla is sort of the ‘standard’ or ‘basic’ flavor where from it you can add other flavors and/or toppings or drips without ruining or overpowering taste. Anyways, the title says, vanilla, default ice cream flavor.
I like chocolate too but Pistachio is my favorite. I like those flavors with nuts and dried fruits.

I guess vanilla goes well with everyone. I like butterscotch. I tried litchi and jackfruit flavor with real fruit pieces there. It was too good

Oh yes, vanilla goes well with almost anything. It doesn’t overpower or ruin the taste. Almost any flavor or topping taste good when combined with vanilla.

@arunima25 Exactly, I forgot to mention I’ve tried lychee/litchi flavor too and I like it! Mango with real mango bits is delicious too, also coconut! Fruit flavored ice cream also have their own appeal.

@pitsipeahie You are right. And it's the safe choice when you are not sure about other person's preference. So I always order a vanilla flavor by default for any party or get together.

I agree that vanilla is the base for other flavors. I like a vanilla and chocolate milkshake. I love ice cream only in the summer months.I like chocolate flaovried ones with other things in it.

I like vanilla flavor mixed with other flavors or with added toppings but just plain vanilla is dull for me. Indeed, vanilla is the basic flavor from which others can be added to enhance taste. Even mints are added to vanilla ice cream but I’m not a fan of it.

I do eat cheese ice cream though it isn’t my favorite but it’s still delicious. I tried mango ice cream and banana strawberry, they taste good too.

If you asked my kids they would say the default flavor was Neapolitan ice cream. My son brought home a blackberry cobbler ice cream and I enjoyed it. I'm not sure I have a favorite flavor because my kids keep bringing home different flavors to try.
