Proud of My Color

I am Asian, got a darker skin tone compared to others. Most of my relatives ,even my kids, believe that I desire to have a fairer skin. I really don't. I can't imagine any skin tone I'd rather be blessed with than what I have. Why would I wish to be different? Do you somehow wish you have a different skin tone than what you have? Thanks. ??

@msdivkar,hello there. That is very well said and indeed so true . We should be grateful for every bit that we have. We were given certain traits ,characters, talents etc because those are the things that make is who we are, uniquely created ,the one and only . Thank you so much for the response. Enjoy the new year. ??

@porwest oh, I have heard that a lot of times from my non Asian friends, they also find darker tones exotic and attractive. But I must say that I do agree that beauty should be viewed deeper beyond the epidermis. A skin tone is just a skin tone and has no bearing of what we are and who we are. What's more important is how we treat our co inhabitants in this world with kindness ,love and respect.

@porwest, it must be with that idea that fair skinned is more beautiful to look at. Blame it to the movies and romantic novels and the fashion magazines, too. where theodels/actors/heroines are mostly "white " of not all.
Thank you for responding and happy new year. .

@iamfemme Exactly, so many things that make us interesting and lovable (or not). Skin color is hardly worth talking about.

I somehow seem don't intend to get the different skin tone during my younger days. What I regret is trying commercial cream because of my scars and marks, acne on my skins.
