I love grocery outlets

So, even though it was a hike to go to grocery outlet out of town they did have a few super values as usual. One of the ones I was impressed wtih was gourmet roasted coffee. I bought 2 pound bag there for 3.99 and they are selling it online for 14.99. I bought this last time I was there, but I got lavender salts for 1.99 and they are selling them on Amazon for over 10.00. Not everything is a great price, their milk prices are ridiculous, but enough are to make it going there worthwhile. Only really though if you are doing something else in the area..a special trip is probably not indicated. Do you ever go to grocery outlets?

How far are you from Ephrata? They have one there. I think you are more in the Poconos area though.

@snowy22315 Ephrata is about an hour and a half from me. I'm closer to Bethlehem area and about 45 min south of the Poconos.

There is one that buys grocery close outs in this community, and they are pretty good on certain things. This one I am talking about though is located in another area. Ask your mom if she knows of any. They used to have a lot of bakery outlet stores, but those are kind of on the decline..you usually only see those now in low income communities I have noticed. I think Dianne N mentioned that she had shopped an Entemanns outlet in the past.

@NJChicaa Yeah, I remember a couple of those too. They had one in Springfield and also on the Eastern Shore of MD. They both went out though.

Aldi does have some great prices. I go there whenever I am in the area. There is one too that is about 45 minutes from here that has a number of other good stores in the same location so it is worth a trip.

@LadyDuck You can,t walk anywhere here other than in the development. No stores are close and their is a fast highway with no shoulder. Walking near that is not advisable!

@snowy22315 To be honest, I haven't even been out that way since we returned from Florida in May. Some day, I will look to see if it's still in business.

Not sure how prevalent they are in other countries...I know in the UK they have a Pound store sort of like our Dollar Tree, but not really the same thing as a grocery outlet.

Grocery Outlet is the nearest store to me. I find they sell lots of processed tempting almost food but yes, they also sell real food like fruit and vegies, cheese and such. I like the one nearest me for its size. Especially during the Pandemic I shop at smaller stores.

This one sells a bit of everything...plenty of junk food but you can also get some deals on fruits, veggies, and other healthier things. one thing they had which are kind of processed but still healthy are the Nestles OUtshine fruit bars..normally like 4 bucks a box for 1.49.

10 dollars for coffee is on the high side, but maybe it costs more on that side of the world.

Where I am from we only have a couple of options and the competition between them is poor.
I wish that we had some more outlet/options so that we could buy in bulk and get some more varieties of things.
It can be a real struggle, especially when there isn't a lot of coin about to spend on food stuffs.

Those are really good deals. Especially of you use these items regularly that will be practical and worth the trip. I would go to outlets, if we have any nearby. The nearest outlet to us is a good 3-4 hours drive. So we have to be content with out local grocery stores, or the bigger one an hour and a half away from our town. My husband and I just make it a point to plan that trip to maximize it, what with gas and time.

Yes, I have gone to one a couple of times even further away, but once I was in the area for something else and another time I just made a trip on the spur of the moment. This time I was in nearby city so I stopped.

That's a shame, because I would guess they would be popular everywhere. The store I am talking about (Sharp Shopper OUtlet) has stores in Pennsylvania and Virginia. I would like to see them put one a bit closer to me...I think maybe Culpeper or Orange VA would be good locations.

I try to find bargains at the grocery store but have not gone to a grocery outlet. I have gone to outlet stores and they are great with cheaper prices.

No, but actually I was thinking of selling the salt online. Not sure how much of a profit I would make though and I would hate to be stuck with several bottles of it. It might not be worth it.
