That happens at times the abused person will not leave so sorry you are upset, but yet, there is nothing you can do Yes, you are saying, as they say here, your hands are tied.

Does she have any other friends? Maybe you could do an intervention. It isn't just her she is modeling this for her children. I think you should point that out.

Maybe she is just saying she will leave him no matter what because she is afraid of him and no matter where she goes if she escapes from him that he will kill her,. It is not easy living in an abusive relationship and it is not always easy to leave it too.

It's not easy being married. i guess the pressure of marriage life finally got to him to the point that he's taking it out on his own family. He needs to change soon or he'll either loose his family and same thing but ends up in jail too.

I am angry too. I hate to hear about any kind of domestic abuse and I get extra infuriated when there are children involved. It doesn't happen often but there are men as well as women who suffer spousal abuse, physical and mental. What I don't understand is why they don't RUN FOR THEIR LIFE!! Because ... it is a life-threatening situation. As much as you can though, try to keep an eye on the situation. If not for your friend's sake because she has made her decision, at least think about her children's safety. Thank goodness they are 10 and 12. Lord willing they can RUN FOR THEIR LIVES!!

It is very upsetting to hear this, on account that her husband is abusing her, and also for the fact that she doesn't want to leave him. But if she stays with him, the abuse will continue.

@Giannna Usually victims of violence do not plan to leave the perpetrator, give advice but do not interfere too much, you can just turn out 'guilty' for no good reason ... because that is how it happens

No you can’t it is nice you want to help her. She has to want to be helped . The one thing I worry about is the kids.
