Walking is something I do a lot of. And now just heard can make a little money. Just heard about winwalk. The app calculates your steps with your phone and you earn points and can get gift cards. Also heard about achievement, sweatcoin, and healthywage. I'm trying to whip myself back into shape and this might be a good way to earn starbucks gift cards. Although the whip cream would make me gain twice as much weight. Have you tried apps that pay you to exercise?

With winwalk, does only outside walking count? Can inside walking be counted too? Thank you for the tip!

This is a good question! I imagine someone with a big garden can just do laps in their garden while earning points.

Nope but it would not be bad for me. On my work I take not small number of steps.

@db20747 How about in pocket? Do we have to make steps and be active on it in same time?

@mrki444 from what I read it calculates when you walk and when I tried a similar app ,also works in your pocket.

I have, however none of them work with smart watches. So, I don't get credit for the workouts I do. I can't really, 'walk' so my steps aren't counted.

@db20747 Only if you can connect it to a smart watch. The problem is, if the hips aren't moving, or a phone isn't in your hand, it doesn't know you're moving. That's why a smart watch or fitness tracker work, because they have their own and know when your wrist is moving.

Ok, with one called cask walking you can exercise your arms and it will count and move the pedometer on your phone.

I used to use sweatcoin, but I don't like the payment method. I will try this winwalk. Can it convert the points or gift cards to money to PayPal?

I think so, when you key them in it will tell all methods of payment

I've tried one before. I like getting paid for things I do anyway.

If such apps exist and truly pay then it would be one of the most creative and amazing ways out there to both make people exercise more and also get rewarded for it.

An interesting method, especially when someone walks a lot. Are you sure someone has already received these awards? I am always somehow skeptical about this type of earnings if I do not see confirmation that it really works. Unless someone wants only for their own motivation and increase their own traffic.

The reviews I've read on these say they are legit. I sure hope so. I hate wasting my time only to not get paid

@db20747 I also don't like situations where I put a lot of time into something and then nothing comes of it.
