Please don't do that. . .

An American Airlines pilot has reportedly threatened to divert his flight, if passengers are unruly and "dump them off in the middle of Kansas". Please don't do that. We have our fair share of problems, we do not need Washington D. C. variety problems as well. Besides that, the squirrels would not like it. Nor would the eagles, hawks, armadillos, cougars, or even the field mice. Oh, and let's not forget the snakes. By the way, I hear we have a good population of tarantulas in Western Kansas. Those rabble rousing folks likely would not know how to survive, and someone would have to show them Christian charity and help them out. What a waste of resources. So pilots, please. If your bilge tanks or whatever they are called, need emptying, dump em somewhere else, like California. They are used to crazy people. Leave Kansas to be home where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play, 'cause I am sure that those persons that are unwanted on your flight are likely expressing "discouraging words" For those of you who are unfamiliar, this last paragraph is based on our state song "Home on the Range." Maybe the unruly passengers can be dropped off in "Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweeping down the plains".

Why dump nuisances on Kansas Reminds me of saying to my students, if you can't do that quietly (as some group activity) I'm going to give you another math sheet. My mom said, "Math isn't a punishment! Math is a delight!"

Great, now I have that song in my head. Good thing I like it. Seriously though, yeah. Pilots really shouldn't do that, or make idol threats like that.

I understand not wanting rowdies on a flight. I would have thought they would just turn around and take them back, and have the Air Marshalls waiting for them.

@GardenGerty I think they typically do, unless they've flown to far. My husband used to fly, and he told me that planes have to travel a certain distance before they have to refuel. So if a plane has flown about halfway to where tey're supposed to go, they won't turn around because they don't have the fuel for that kind of delay.

I do not blame the pilot for being disturbed by these individuals. I have heard that many are going to be prosecuted by the FAA for endangering the flights with their bad behavior. I just do not like the idea of Kansas as a dumping ground. I think they should try to keep them off in the first place.

@gardengerty I get a bit anxious when idiots start to get rowdy on a plane but I wouldn’t wish them on Kansas.

Better to take a tour over an ocean, even better if there are sharks... some less idiots in the world.

@GardenGerty I have never understood why some people when they get on a plane can't just sit in their seat quietly. What's the problem?

I hadn't heard that news story. I hope the pilots don't carry out their threats and leave your fine state of Kansas where the buffalo roam, alone.

Of course, if they were caught in a stampede they would know how the people felt who went down and got trampled.

I hope it is just a threat because that really would be horrible. The pilot would get in serious trouble if he landed somewhere he wasn’t supposed to and dumped off passengers.

@GardenGerty hopefully it’s sectioned off so he can fly without having to worry about it. Sounds like they need security people on the planes. The pilot shouldn’t have to worry about anything but the weather when flying.

Just take a detour over the Gulf and drop them right into the ocean, then they will have something to be unruly about, and it will only bother the fish, and quite a few of those will be thankful for the meal.

A pilot should not make a threat like that. Some people just do not care about the way that they behave.

There should be consequences for the passengers endangering the others on a flight though.

@GardenGerty That is a good idea, or drop them in the middle of the Arizona deserts, without water and food, let them learn how to survive.

It sounds as though the pilot doesn't have a very high opinion of Kansas.

Just tell some people that God will take of His children during these crazy times and I get hate mail telling me I am crazy as a fox. If they only knew that we are being tested in these hard times. I just laugh at them.
