I Was Called A Pet for A Couple of Times: How?!?

During my younger years, some of my exes called me their pet. No wonder why the relationship did not work out. I am just kidding up. Actually, most girls at my time, when they are having girls' parties, pets are not allowed. The pets that they are referring to are their boyfriends. I don't mind since they wanted to have girl talk moments.
What do you usually say when you're surprised?

I didn't know boyfriends are referred to as pets. What I know is the teacher's pet. But that's an entirely different thing.

@Shavkat You won't hate me then, I never played favoritism on my students even if they are intelligent and smart and beautiful. In fact, I reached out to the slow learners, the quiet ones, or those who act like outcasts.

@eileenleyva I had so many teachers like this before. Some of these teachers wanted to be their friends before. I think it is fine but not affectionately. I was even harassed by my male teacher before by showing his love intention towards me during my university days.

Oh, that's funny! And you were warning me not to call Pretty my pet! (I told her about our conversation and she got a good laugh out of it! )
Surprised? It depends on what surprises me. I was once in a car accident. The other driver sped out of a parking lot and into the side of my car. I was driving in traffic that had the right-of-way. I remember other people coming to my car, which I had stopped in traffic, and asking me if I was okay. I couldn't answer them for quite a while. I remember a policeman saying I was in shock from the accident. *shrug*
Sometimes, the shock is too much and we can't know how we will react until/unless it happens to us.

Well, she is just being polite to you.
It is given that you were shocked. The good thing is that you were not injured. I had experienced this before. My uncle and I were having a road trip with a forward truck and a ten-wheeler truck hit the tail of our vehicle. The forward truck swirled for about 3 rounds on the h-way. Since I am in the medical field, I was not shocked and my uncle was.

@DaddyEvil The downside of that incident is that I never dared to drive any vehicles. I got traumatized and don't want to experience it. I just graduated from my university at that time.

Hmmm... you were lucky, I think. I've been in car accidents before but had never gone into shock over the wreck before. I don't know what the difference was or why I went into shock that time and not the others. *shrug* I felt distanced from everything that was happening for quite some time and don't remember the accident very well. I just remember what other people told me about it afterward.

Interesting. I've heard of a "pet" being someone (either gender) being a favorite like teacher's pet.
You're right, I think it's healthy for each gender actually to have their time apart from their significant other.

During my school days, some teachers do have their own pets in classes. I don't mind. But, sometimes I felt unfair if giving them good grades, which they don't deserve.
In a relationship, there is always some time off from being together. It is not because you are pushing him or her away. Instead, it is letting them have their friends in life.

@FayeHazel Unfortunately, not all teachers play a fair game in giving good grades. Being obsessed with someone is not a good thing.

@Shavkat True... as long as the teacher is fair with grading everyone according to the work they do it's fine...
I wish more people understood that. I seem to attract men who want 100% of my time. Thats not healthy actually

@cherigucchi Indeed. I wonder why some men love being called like this. Is that how clingy they are? Yikes!
