A very useful mess

The photo shows a small plastic throwaway container with what looks like a mess inside. I’ll let you into a little secret which is a woodworker’s lifesaver.
We’ve made two little boxes now and have also made a few other things with various types of wood. Often there is a small crack or blemish in the wood which needs to be filled in.
We mix Aquadhere (a wood glue) and sawdust (from the same type of wood obviously) and fill the hole/crack with the mixture. Once it dries and is sanded off, you can’t pick the flaw from the surrounding wood.
The container holds Aquadhere and jarrah sawdust from our last effort. Small tricks-of-the-trade like this are very handy to know.

Thank you because when I become a woodworker I will remember this. Believe it or not I have always wanted to make a bed frame one that would be sturdy

Just don't stick it in the frig, lol.
My husband and I used this trick many times over the years. I really miss working with him out in the shed.

Wood has a beautiful smell when it's being sawn or sanded. I prefer it to working with metal.

That would be handy to know. I thought it was an empty pudding cup or something lol.

It looks like chocolate pudding or chocolate ice-cream.

I wash used margarine containers and pour used oil into them. They then go into the bin rather than pouring oil and fat down the sink. They have a lot of uses. I have some in the shed too to hold small pieces when we're working on something.

It works really well. Once it's sanded down, you can't pick it.

i remember doing that with my grandfather - we used to repair holes in the wood structure of the cabins he owned that way!

I hope they were only small holes! I wouldn't have thought it would work for biggish holes.
