Yesterday Was A Pretty Good Day For Word Count

Yesterday was the best day I’ve had word count wise this month, I was able to wrote 2,612 words, mainly in Project Sapphire, this is still in Zero draft, but I’m getting a better feel for the characters, and even as I write this, I am listening to a great book that deals with character arcs, called Creating Character Arcs by K.M Weiland. I had credits on Audible, so I used one for this one, but I’m going to get a physical copy as well, because I’d like to have a copy to highlight, as well as to take notes from.
I’m not where I want to be on my word count for the first half of January yet, but I’m hoping to have another good writing day tomorrow!

I'm not familiar with counting words for month. I don't know what character arcs are. I guess I will maybe check with YouTube. If I can stay well enough to get active again, I hope to get to know you and your content.

Character arcs are a distilled summary of the journey of a character over the course of your story. The monthly word count is just me holding myself accountable for the number of words I write in a month! I am glad to see you here and look forward to getting to know you better!

Some days I write 3,000 words and some days I manage only 500. I'm a pantser and just let the words flow to me as they will. I've been doing something a little different lately which is to just write. I was editing as I go, but I feel like I lose a sense of the story that way.
I use Naturalreaders.com to listen to my words, prowritingaid to edit my work and canva to create book covers just an FYI. There are writing groups on facebook to help encourage you when you're feeling stuck too.

@Michellekidwell I love prowritingaid a lot. They've done a little updating too recently with more suggestions which I like. I can't use scrivener or any of the other software like that because I write on linux and scrivener isn't supported, unfortunately.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Sorry to hear, I use IOS on my IPad, and Windows on my laptop, I have Scrivener on both!

I’m a pantser as well, thank you, I belong to a few, I use Scrivener for most of my writing, If I have something I want to try and plot even though it always veers away from that, I use Save the Cat, and I use Prowriting aid for editing as well!

It’s a zero draft of a Young Adult novel I’m writing!
