Glass Half Full Or Half Empty?

During these tougher times we have all experienced lately, I have started wondering whether I’m a glass half full or half empty kind of guy. There’s definitely been a lot more to worry about in the last 12 months than the previous.
I guess if you are an optimist however, then you’re likely to keep thinking positively regardless of the circumstances.
I like to think I’m optimistic most of the time, and I believe that I am. However, I’m not sure whether others think that way about me because I don’t really show much by way of expression. I just kind of get on with things in a determined and positive way, but not necessarily with a wide grin on my face.
What about you? Are you a glass half empty or half full. Do you think other people see you as an optimist?

Why does it bother you how other people see you? The main thing is that you know yourself what you're like. People who get to know you will get to know your character whether you grin constantly or show a sour face.
There are many shades between optimist and pessimist. Hardly anyone is either - or.
I'd describe myself as a stoic. I take things as they come.

I respect your wisdom on this. What other people think isn’t something that should be very concerning, I agree. I think the point I was trying to make is that some people are harder to read than others, and I think it works the other way too. Some people come across as happy and positive, but that can cover a whole host of insecurities.
I also agree that there is no black and white when it comes to optimism or pessimism. All of us are capable of being either/or and then somewhere in between. Your stoicism will no doubt have served you well during recent events.

The optimist will say he's half full. While the pessimist says he's half empty. It depends on how you look at life in your own situation.

I considered myself as a 'glass-half-empty person' and always struggling to feel positive. It seems my mind is my worst enemy but through prayers I survived them all.

@Raynsun To be honest it is not that easy but I have to be strong and keep going.

I am both. I have days where I see the good and days where I see the bad, but I believe people see me as more optimistic, because I don't show too much of my negative side.

One has to be an optimist now in the face of this pandemic to tide over another day with head held high.
Life is not as usual that we are used to.
I am a balanced sort of guy - neither elated nor feeling sorry for myself when things are the pits.
We need to get through the grind here and uncertainty is the second name to life here.
I believe good and bad alternate - just bide my time.

I do not feel very optimistic about anything at the moment, and I am a glass half empty sort of person. But I try not to let my feelings show because it would make everyone one else miserable.

My glass is never empty and I always see the light behind dark clouds. Getting nervous over things you can't change is spoiled energy my mom always said and she was right. It comes as it comes and that's what you have to deal with. Being flexible helps a lot too.
