during this pandemic I chose mangosteen, and according to the issue I read, this fruit can destroy cancer cells and several other functions, but I feel that it must be proven first. What do you think about this fruit?

It is not abundant here. I also read an article that it is good for the body.

Fruits are good for the body, but there is nothing natural that can destroy cancer cells.

I love all fruits except dragon fruit, I agree with what you are saying. Until now, cancer has not been cured naturally.

@May2k8 Some fruits and food can "prevent" cancer, but not cure it once you get it.

Depending on where your friend grows it, it doesn't seem like it can get too cold.

All I know is I love eating fruits and mangosteen is one of my favorites but it is quite expensive for poor people like me. I'd rather eat pomelo because I could have it for FREE at my hometown. Haha

We have MX3 here. A brand of coffee and supplement capsule made of Mangosteen. But a supplement has always has a label on it that it has no approved therapeutic claim.

If it has become a patent product, I am still in doubt because it is likely not 100% natural.

There are some medicines are made from its rind, some claims it contains powerful antioxidant activity. Well for me, as long as it's sweet I'm okay with that fruit even it's not my favorite.

Maybe this fruit can only prevent cancer, because treating it will certainly be more difficult.

I love trying fruit from other countries but the mangosteen was illegal to possess in the US until 2007. It has since been removed from the contraband list but hasn't made it to markets near me yet.

Why did America ban the mangosteen fruit? Don't they allow all the fruit from other countries to enter there.

@May2k8 It was banned for decades because it was believed the fruit harbored the Asian Fruit Flies. No, many fruits are still banned here. Any time I find fruit from another country I buy some to try. I have found one I can't eat (Star Fruit) because of the chemical composition. I have trouble with my kidneys so shouldn't eat that fruit. And am not fond of a couple of others. Lychee doesn't have enough flavor to be worth the cost of the fruit and Rambutan is much the same.
