Who's afraid of a syringe prick?

I am. Not that my threshold to pain is nil because I prick myself twice day with the necessary insulin. Syringe needle is actually fine. Painless. But watching all the news showing people being inoculated with the vaccine make me cringe now. Ouch.

I don't think I'm scared of needles but THE FEELING when your blood is being sucked out or the pain of the liquids of vaccines is what makes me way too nervous

i vaguely remember lining up way, way back in elementary to be injected on the arm. i don't mind having the usual CBC even if they always have a hard time finding my veins so somehow i think i can tolerate the covid vaccine, if ever. what i would really dread are the needles used in dialysis which i've seen father go through.

I am not scared because of the pain, but both my mother and my grandmother had a problem after an injection and now I am nervous every time I need one.

@eileenleyva Everywhere I look there are pictures of people being vaccinated - not helpful. I’m not concerned about the pain; it’s just the idea of being punctured like that.

I used to be scared of needles until I got treatment for tuberculosis. It's a prick, like you said for, I dunno, 45 days or more? No longer scared of needles afterwards.

The vaccination is only another prick, mine was painless.

20% of people fear needles, why flu jabs rarely get above 59%.

I don't take insulin. But yes I prick my fingers to check my blood sugar. I am also not comfortable watching those visuals of vaccination.

I hate needles. Always have. But I have to check blood sugars every morning, I regularly donate blood. I get an annual flu shot, I will get this vaccine as soon as I am eligible. (Not for a little while yet) My county just called in the 75 and over residents. So we are moving in the right direction, I think. Much as I hate needles, I've learned to accept what must be.
